10 Points of Interest & Landmarks in Cannes That You Shouldn't Miss

December 27, 2021 Tambra Mccollister

Galas, regattas, the Film Festival and an outrageously attractive and affluent set characterize Cannes. Vast yachts obscure the view and the town lives up to its motto, "Life is a festival." People-watching is the activity that brings most visitors to Cannes, and hotel-lined La Croisette provides a fine promenade. First popularized by Coco Chanel, Cannes beaches are a huge draw. Get expensive seaside food and drinks service on hotel sand or opt for the free public beaches, Plages du Midi and de la Boca.

La Croisette is always an awesome place for summer holidays. Its sandy beaches, the great food restaurants and the luxury shops offer all the ingredients of a perfect stay, althought a bit too expensive.

Painted wall "Cannes Cinema" They are all here, ready to start shooting. The sets are in place, the camera rises for the prestigious credits of a hundred years of cinema: R2-D2 and Mickey Mouse, Fred Astaire dancing, Bourvil and de Funes being shot at, Batman and Superman on the lookout for bad guys, Belmondo and Depardieu chumming up, etc. In the sunshine of Cannes, Day for night, Truffaut-style.

Fun trompe l'oeil mural ♥️ Vibrant colours and adds character to the local area (bus station). Wish the Tourism Office would have a map for visitors wanting to see the other murals dotted around Cannes.

This is a lovely walking area, pedestrian friendly with some good shopping and of course lots of cafes for food and drink. A good taste of the real town.
