Neidong National Forest Recreation Area

It takes 50 minutes by road from Xindian, making it the most convenient option in the greater Taipei area to visit a national forest recreation area. The weather here is warm and humid with Neidong river passing through the Area, making it a paradise for ferns. The Neidong waterfall is the star attraction of the Park and is located at the end point of the Waterfall viewing trail. The water has three layers with different views for visitors to enjoy, in addition to the fresh and fragrant negative ions emanating from the forest.

Wulai Log Cart

These log carts were originally used to transport lumbering machines and tools in addition to lumber. In the beginning, they were hand-powered trains for carrying passengers; however, they have been transformed into power-driven carts for the increasing number of tourists. The special 1.5 kilometers of railway to the waterfalls is now used for tourism purposes. If you come to Neidong, you must try this last remaining train of its kind in Taiwan to experience the atmosphere of times past.

Such a cute little trolley ride up to the waterfall. It was worth the cost as if you had to walk to the waterfall it would have been quite a long walk. The scenery was gorgeous along the way! This was so fun! We loved it!

ETEE is the first educational institute that combines traveling and learning Chinese together. Many foreign students did not have a suitable program for learning Chinese because of the class- only environment and we were inspired by this. ETEE designed a series of lessons to lead foreign students on trips to experience the cultures of Taiwan while at the same time learning Chinese.
