As part of my journey through North Maluku early October 2019, I (female solo traveller) climbed up Mt. Ibu, one of Halmahera‘s active volcanoes, which turned out to be an absolute highlight of my tour. For this tour, I was looking for a local guide and came across Alex ([email protected]; WA: +62 82191235467). Alex is not only native to the region, he is also a very experienced guide, perfectly familiar with Mt. Ibu’s activities and the particularities of its surroundings. Once on tour, it became immediately obvious to me that he knows what he‘s doing and has a clear concept of his clients‘ needs. The tour was perfectly organized and well thought through. And in addition to all volcano features already described on this site by fellow-travellers, the tour programme also involved camping in the jungle, swimming in the nearby river, observing interesting wildlife and living from what Mother Nature has got to offer with some great outdoor survival lessons included. Apart from having made a very unique experience, I felt in absolutely safe hands and very well looked after.
