TipTop Ski Coaching

TipTop Ski Coaching is a British ski school in Les Deux alpes. We pride ourselves on quality, ensuring everyone not only has a great time skiing with us but their skiing and confidence improves.

I recently got the opportunity to take a few ski lessons with Alex and I must say that she was a wonderful coach. She started off with the very basics of how to walk in the snow shoes to the advance level stuff of how to turn, how to break and how to keep the perfect snow plough. Despite the lifts being off, she made sure that my group and I during the 2 hours we were with her, learnt all about skiing, one snow plough at a time. She focused a lot on everyone individually also, despite the fact that we were a group of 5. So if you are ever in the les deux alpes and you need your money's worth, contact Alex Chapman.

Bonsai Ski

Ski & Snowboard courses, off-piste guiding in Les 2 Alpes or La Grave. Week courses in small classes for kids and adults, customized private lessons. Several language available English, French, Dutch and Italian.

I've been using Marco's amazing teaching and guiding skills several times throughout the years. First time it was several days of guided snowboard off-piste/freeride experience, where he chose best options available according to snow, terrain and weather conditions, as well as group skill level (it was a group of myself and two friends of mine). It was great. Two other times were private skiing lessons last winter - first at the beginning of the season when I just started with skiing and he taught me basics and has guided me from the very beginning to confidently going down red slopes in just three days; the second one was the end of the season when he helped me correct my techniques and establish base for more advanced practices on the steepest groomed slopes, as well as some off-piste skills to feel more confident in soft snow, also in just a few lessons. I could without any doubt recommend Marco's services to anyone, from the very beginners on groomed slopes to a skilled riders all through the back-country, and what's more amazing he's native/fluent in multiple languages (at least Italian, French, English and Dutch, but that's just what I recall).

Oz-en-Oisans

Reviewed By DavidOracle - Dundee, United Kingdom

Oz en Oisans offers a small, picturesque ski resort for people looking for somewhere quieter. We stayed in a half board hotel so can't comment on the restaurants but there were a couple of bars for and apres ski beer. If you're looking for lots of night life this isnt the place for you. We stayed in Hotel Les Cristaux which has a great little pool that's also open to the public. The skiing is great. There are a handful of nice easy slopes by the village then two cable cars to take you higher up the mountain. As mentioned elsewhere the runs from the top back down to the village are a little tricky so some might want to get the lift down. You have great access to the whole Alpe d'Huez Grand Domaine from the lifts above Vaujany right across to Auris. One word of caution, if the weather is inclement, keep an eye on the lifts. We got stuck over in Alpe d'Huez for a few hours one afternoon when wind shut all the lifts! Well done to the ski staff who did eventually get everyone back. Transfers to Oz can be a bit tricky. We took Bensbus to Rochetaille the a 40euro taxi (taxi d'Oz) up to Oz. There is also a free shuttle bus if its timetable fits with your itinerary.

Alpe d'Huez

Reviewed By oliverdavid2015 - Tignes, France

Alpe d'Huez Grand Domaine is impressive and huge. Much more diversified and challenging than the 3 Valleys or Espace Killy. The Sarenne Glacier is totally underrated, it is one of the very few where you can actually spend the whole day above 3,000m without the need to ski down and queue to take a gondola back up: there are 2 chairlifts that give you access to very challenging pistes (groomed and not groomed, your choice!). The view rom Pic Blanc is out of this world
