West End

Reviewed By kayem397 - Brisbane, Australia

There is a bit of old world charm still in this almost city suburb of Brisbane a short walk from the city over the major bridges. It still has the old world shops of days gone by when the Greek migrants occupied the suburb and built their own church and building near the park.. There is the historic Kurilpa Library clock building and the heritage listed West End school Administration building.. if you feel like driving around or walking past the shops a little further. It was a major suburb of Brisbane in the early to mid 20th century and still has a lot of the unique Queenslander type and working class houses on stilts for the summer breeze in the hot summer climate and great footpath restaurants and cafes.
