The Province of Milan (Italian: Provincia di Milano) was a province in the Lombardy region, Italy. Its capital was the city of Milan. The provincial territory was highly urbanized, resulting in the third highest population density among the Italian provinces with more than 2,000 inhabitants/km, just behind the provinces of Naples and the bordering Monza e Brianza, created in 2004 splitting the north-eastern part from the province of Milan itself. On January 1, 2015 it was replaced by the Metropolitan City of Milan.

Bosco Wwf di Vanzago

Alle porte di Milano sorge l'Oasi WWF del Bosco di Vanzago: uno degli ultimi boschi sopravvissuti nella Pianura Padana.L'area si estende per circa 200 ettari formati dal tipico bosco della Pianura Padana.Nell'Oasi WWF di Vanzago è anche attivo il Centro di Recupero Animali Selvatici (CRAS): un vero e proprio ospedale con un "Pronto Soccorso" che accoglie animali in difficoltà o feriti e che vengono curati dai veterinari del WWF e poi, una volta ristabiliti vengono liberati nel loro ambiente naturale.
