A deep valley that separates Jerusalem from the Mount of Olives and runs first southeastward and then southward along the city. It's was about a 15 min walk from the old city down into the valley up to the garden Gethsemane... it is a surreal feeling to realize you are walking where, King David, when fleeing from rebellious Absalom, crossed the Kidron Valley on foot, up to the mount of Olives or the valley that Jesus traversed on his way to the garden of Gethsemane

Nice and small garden with lots of old olive trees and a large number of flowers. In the garden there are olive trees that are old and after 2000 years.

This zoo is lush with green and color. The animals are mostly visible without fences are bars to look through. Birds were nesting in the trees. Loved the raptor house and so many other animals in this zoo. Plenty of places to have a picnic and sit in shade. Highly recommend it.

Overlooking the old city and mount of olives is this gem- lavender bushes everywhere and walking paths down the side of mount.. it is well worth finding for a time out from hectic touring. Not to be missed. Plus the Muslim call to prayer is electrify if you catch it at the right time . For some reason the cab didn’t know how to get me there and when we got off a few blocks away nobody could point to where it was - like they hadn’t heard of it.

plenty of benches to sit on. a fantastic walk with many types of roses to see and smell very easy to park and one of the few places to take a very long interesting walk. also fine if you want to make a barbecue....but ask first

Guide Helen Cohn with IsraelDaysOut picked us up at our hotel and guided us through Herodyon, pointing out West Bank and Territories sites en route. The depth and breadth of her knowledge about Herodyon as well as the current political situation was most enlightening.

Nahal Og is a beautiful canyon hike . Easy reachable. Near Kibbutz Almog close by the Dead Sea are sign which point to Nahal Og. From the parking lot leads a easy trail to the canyon. Once in the canyon awaits the hiker a incredible landscape. Best is to do the hike upward and the loop back to the parking lot. Bring some picknick along, water, and take your time to rest at numerous beautiful spots where you can take lots of great pictures. This hike includes climbing some ladders to overcome high rock formations, waterfalls. In my opinion, a must do when passing near Kibbutz Almog.
