This boat tour was one of the best we have been on (ever!) - and it was our captain that made the difference. We saw lots of turtles and snorkeled in some great areas. We loved the sand bar and overall the entire experience. It was Capt Chris though that made it extra special by taking the time to tell us history of the island/s as we went along and even jumped in the water so we could get a closer look at the largest starfish I’ve seen! A truly enjoyable experience start to finish!!

This is possibly one of the most amazing places on earth. You can walk for miles and miles into the ocean and never get above your waist. My daughters had so much fun collecting sand dollars. It was a very peaceful and beautiful beach to relax the afternoon away.

We met a gentleman while we were strolling on the beach and he said that particular day was a little windy but often the water there is calm. Calm enough to snorkel to one or more of the "sister rocks".

Hooper's Bay Beach

Reviewed By verhoev4 - Baltimore, United States

Spent 1 day at Hooper’s Bay beach with a family of 4 (two older teenagers). Hooper’s Bay is something like 5-10 min north of GeorgeTown. It’s past the fish fry and Jolly Hall beach. There is a tiny beach access sign on the side of road, so pay attention. The path to the beach is small and tucked between two houses. The stairs to the beach are broken in a couple areas so be careful. Hooper’s Bay is beautiful. Because it’s in a bay, the water is really calm. So, it’s a good beach for a windy day. The main reason we went here is it’s known for the sea turtles. When you get to the beach, head right towards the 2 docks. Most of the turtles are between the two docks. We have snorkeled with turtles before, but we have never experienced such ‘friendly’ turtles. They were not skittish at all and swam straight toward us and around us. You don’t even have to snorkel to enjoy them. Just stand still and they will swim all around you. I suspect some people feed them (which you shouldn’t do) and that’s why they are so friendly. In any case, it was an awesome experience. Did not see any bars or restaurants on this beach so pack stuff for yourself as needed. Here’s how we would rate the beaches we visited in Great Exuma (have reviews on each): 1. Coco Plum 2. Stocking Island 3. Tropic of Cancer 4. Hooper’s Bay 5. Forbes Hill Did not make it to Jolly Hall but hear that’s also nice.

The Marina Emerald Bay was great! Great slips for our boat, great service (especially Ericka!). We also had access to a rental car delivered and picked up for us! AND - you have access to the Grand Isle Resort - a beautiful resort, palapa restaurant, Spa (Latrevia was a great massage Therapist!). Kevin at the beach, Emmerson at the pool, Tyrone at the Restaurant, all great! A great bonfire on Friday nights! Loved it!!
