The museum is being renovated, but has a wonderful art show in its annex next door with impressive works by famous artists such as Marc Chagall. The show is well worth stopping for. However, make sure you take the walking tour of "Jewish South Beach" with Howard Brayer, who is amazingly knowledgeable volunteer. Armed with photos, he will make you see so much that you missed noticing in that neighborhood. Thank you Mr. Brayer, we really enjoyed our tour!

Art By Mariano Picos Pelegri

PoP Art with a SENSE OF HUMOUR! Commissioned Art is a Perfect Gift. A Treasured Memory of Relevance.Own an "ORIGINAL", Not a print". Commissioned Murals & Backdrops for Productions Mariano’s images reveal the impulse in all of us to look to the past and to hold tightly to traces of you personal history. The subjects he conveys to the viewer is uniquely his own, and yet a part of the common human experience where everyone has been or wants to be and where anyone is welcome.Mariano Creates Original Works of Art that explore Many Different People, All Animals, Places and Pop Art. Picos gives his works seemingly real depth, contour and a mood where his use of bold colours provide layered meaning in every sense. The solidity of each subject wander with abstract shapes that compliment his details and takes the voyeur’s imagination into an “uneasy” of uncomfortable truths where life takes form. Picos allows the viewer to participate in the scene and explore an inner reaction. Because of Mariano’s artistic expression, writers, painters, musicians and actors from all over Europe, Latin America and the United States have all been inexorably drawn to this creative mecca. Mariano is able to capture and preserve the most intimate details.Mariano casts a near perfect presence and a familiar, provoking creation.

Art Basel

Since 1970, Art Basel's goal has been to connect the world's premier galleries and their patrons, as well serving as a meeting point for the international art world. Now, over forty years later, its three fairs - in Basel, Hong Kong and Miami Beach rank as the premier shows of their kind, presenting 20th and 21st century art with a strong curatorial perspective. In our American show, leading galleries from North America, Latin America, Europe, Asia and Africa show significant work from the masters of Modern and contemporary art, as well the new generation of emerging stars. Paintings, sculptures, installations, photographs, films, and editioned works of the highest quality are on display in the main exhibition hall. Ambitious large-scale artworks, films and performances become part of the city's outdoor landscape at nearby Collins Park and SoundScape Park.

After a professional development event, I went to Rosetta Bakery for breakfast and then walked along Collins Avenue to this tiny, beautiful museum in Collins Park. It has great exhibitions showcasing mostly contemporary art. You can also admire there “The Coronation of the Virgin”, a collaboration between Botticelli and Ghirlandaio but hurry up, because in 2020 this masterpiece will travel to Paris on loan.

This is really only an art museum whose theme is human sexuality. The owner of the exhibits had a hard time finding a city that would accept such a controversial topic but finally Miami Beach agreed. It's not for everyone but it is for those whom embrace and celebrate their sexuality. A lot of culture and some history here so it's informative and educational. Paintings, research, statues, pottery, boxes, vases, folk art, and regional art work from North America, Europe, Asia and Africa. Abstract to comical to historical art presented in the numerous rooms. Very friendly staff and very clean restrooms. It's located on the second floor. The historical aspect includes Kinsey, Hirschfeld, Nazi, Masters and Johnson and photography of Italy, movie stars and celebrities. Very comfortable atmosphere, no pressure to hurry, not crowded no judgement. Treated sex and sexuality as it if were natural. Look for the horny Disney characters and Popeye.
