Pumarinri Amazon Lodge

A really bad service

Reviewed By AdriBellido

We were a group of eleven and we all had a bad experience with the service. The people who work there are not happy, and they transmit you that feeling of not being enjoying their work. The man who receive us in the reception was not friendly at all. It seems like he was doing us a big favor receiving us. The food was good but there are some plates that not are in the menu and in the restaurant the waiter gave us a price and in the reception at the check out we had to pay a bigger price. They did not want us to leave the price we were told. Also, we order Margaritas and were horrible, the worst Margaritas I haven taken, and we went to the bar to showed our discomfort and asked to change the drink or not have to pay, they said that was the recipe and that was all. We had to paid it at the check out. To plan our transport back to the airport they did not ask us at what time we want it and arrange it at a time we did not want and also they were saying we have to pay more. Thankfully we had the mailed that said the original price that we paid, and we had to show that mail to save us of that new charge on the bill. In conclusion, the lodge has beautiful rooms with view to the river but the service is so bad that none of the 11 we travel want to go back or recommend it. My advice to the owner of the lodge is that the staff has to take a course of hospitality and learn how to smile and feel happy at their place of work.

Beautiful hotel in Tarapoto

Reviewed By josebueno12

It’s not my first time in Tarapoto, and I tried this hotel which ranks #7 TripAdvisor in the whole city. The pool is huge and it has a lovely view to the city. Unfortunately the food is not so delicious, just normal. The staff is great, I read in some opinions that the staff was rude but not at all. The owners are a little bit cold but that’s normal in any landlord in Peru. It is true the access is difficult but we cannot blame the owners for the government works around the hotel.

Safe and Friendly Sanctuary

When I arrived to Mitu Wasi I was pleased to see a very cozy, clean and comfortable environment. The cabin rooms are very clean, neat and have a bathroom and shower that is a pleasure to walk into. The outdoor shared patio has plenty is seating and relaxing areas such as hammocks. The family that owns and runs this place is very hard working and will make everything in their power to make you feel at home. I was able to see most of the sightseeing places with the help of our very hospitable host Roberto. I would definitely stay here again and eat the amazing food that they cooked for us. Thank you again!

Good idea, if you look for solitude and nature

Reviewed By 1971GGT

Pros & Cons Pros The cabins or lodges are comfortable. Made of wood and nicely located throughout the property. The lodge property is huge. A big part of the property is catalogued as semi-virgin and protected by law The service is provided by a small group of staff, extremely compromised to serve the customer Each cabin has a terrace, with and an amazing view of the forrest. There is a fairly good Internet service The lodge includes a pick up service from and to the airport. Cons: Not neat at all. The cabins are not completely sealed so some bugs and dust are expected Food variety is poor. The menu you can choose from, is composed of four or five different dishes. The lodge has no activities at all. You can hire tours and activities from travel agencies in Tarapoto, though. The lodge is located far from the city, which is good but the only way to engage to any activity is using the lodge transportation to the city. They provide the Transportation free of charge, twice a day, so they can leave you in Tarapoto and they can pick you up from Tarapoto at your convenience. (Any time) The swimming pool is small and not so clean. I would say that this lodge is perfect if you want to stay far from everything, in contact with nature. Not a good idea if you plan some family days of full activities and tourism. The hotel was literally empty, and open just for me.

Really nice new hotel to stay before of after Iquitos Boat.

Reviewed By Rob W

Stayed in Hospedaje Omaguas for a few days while waiting for our boat to Iquitos. This is a really nice hotel clean rooms with air conditiong for about 23-25 dollars a night. The guys that work there are all really friendly - helping with restaurants, supermarkets and onward travel (Edouardo Ferry to Iquitos. Room was spacious had a tv with plenty of channnels and good internet. The shower was hot. The room was immaculately clean - in a town full of cockroaches and mosquitos - there were never any in this pristine hotel. The hotel was really comfortable as we had to wait longer for our ferry - as 5000 live chickens being transported to Iquitos took priority - and there isn't a huge amount to do in Yurimaguas apart from use the internet and watch tv.
