So its straw traditional architecture, perfectly adapted to the local microclimate, was protected. Great weekend stay amid tranquil natural setting
Reviewed By beachbummer75It’s a great weekend getaway with attentive service, peaceful surroundings and friendly villagers. The price was affordable with full board The huts were made of straw, simple yet cosy. Pool was clean and inviting, it was nice to have a refreshing dip after cycling with fat bicycles around the village, kayaking in the lagoon or just chilling by the pool with a book. Meals by the lagoon offered fine views of the lagoon, watching fishermen and kids in the waters, washing the horses, donkeys or simply playing in the waters. It was also calming Food was served on time and with generous portions. We had salad, beef with grilled vegetables and fries, coconut Cake for dinner. Lunch consisted of fried prawns, grilled fish with vegetables and rice. Points to note the network is not good which is fine if you don’t intend to be watching movies there via the net. I will definitely go back again. It’s a pity that Covid had a big impact to this lovely lodge as we were the only ones staying over weekend. Hopefully they will tide through and have more visitors.

Reviewed By patriciaryan29We visited as a family for the Thursday Senegalese night . Food poor . Entertainment enthusiastic , loud drumming mainly . Energetic dancers . Could not wait to leave for some quiet . I do applaud their enthusiasm however.

Reviewed By KhamliaI have been to this hotel every single time I have been to Senegal in Abene, ie. already for the sixth time. It's a great place with a simple but really nice hotel. It is located outside the village Abene, about 50 meters from the sea and has an incredibly beautiful view towards it but also in the other direction towards the forest. The restaurant is located on a terrace that is nicely furnished, a comfortable place to sit, eat and enjoy. It si free wifi there too, but not at the room. The hotel has two other buildings where there are rooms, a little further away from the restaurant, such typical Senegalese round houses with 6 rooms in one and maybe 4 rooms in the other. The rooms are not large, but comfortable and each has a private bathroom. Staff are friendly and incredibly helpful. I usually go travel with my friend who is disabled and staff always help me with him. The food is delicious, there is nothing to complain about. It's just that most of it is fish of course, and shrimp too. You can also do boat trips to nearby lagoons or bird watching etc. With that helps the owner Patrick, a very nice man, who is a good fisherman who teaches you to fish in case you are inexperienced. As well as taking you to the best places where you can see lots of different birds, sometimes even the occasional monkey. Patrick really could not find a nicer and better place for his hotel like this one. I highly recommend staying here not just one night but several days so you can really enjoy yourself.

Reviewed By Polyglot2This is one of the best hotels in Joal, unfortunately that's because there's no choice. The staff are friendly enough, but the rooms aren't up to the usual standards. Again the staff are very honest and extremely trustworthy. However nobody is keen to remove the stray dogs, ask to eat on the rooftop terrace and make sure you get a good mosquito net.

They scammed us, so please stay away!
Reviewed By robinvD2242BTThey scammed us, so please watch out and book anywhere else! We paid the guy who showed us the room and than another guy came to us and said we didn't pay yet. The first guy was gone and and the second guy forced us to pay again or leave. He did see that the first guy showed us the room and let us pay, but he didn't say anything. So they definitely worked together to scam tourists. Really insecure place. No security door like any other place. Please stay away!

un comodo soggiorno a Dakar
Reviewed By AleCinci2013nel corso di una vacanza in Senegal- dove peraltro ho vissuto per 3 anni - ho scoperto questo simpatico alberghetto in una zona non troppo centrale ma comoda da raggiungere e sicuramente più tranquilla del Plateau. L'ultima volta ci sono stato nel 2014 anche se ho dovuto indicare come data della permanenza il 2017, comunque da allora altri amici mi hanno detto che è addirittura migliorato. L'hotel non è enorme ma è molto simpatico e pulito ed il proprietario il sig, Thierry è una persona disponibile e sempre pronta per un buon consiglio su cosa fare e vedere a Dakar e vicinanze. Le camere sono ben arredate ed accoglienti ed anche il ristorante , su una bella terrazza, è assolutamente semplice ma impeccabile. E' consigliato per una vacanzetta tranquilla e rilassante.

Reviewed By Olivier-91490Une très grande chambre avec balcon, avec vue sur une rue calme, la piscine, petite mais très propre. Le personnel est très agréable, serviable et toujours disponible. Devant partir à l'aéroport le soir seulement, nous avons pu laisser nos bagages à l'hôtel. Petit déjeuner très correct. Seul désagrément, la salle de bain qui mériterait un rafraîchissement, et des petits travaux pour réparer l'arrivée d'eau des toilettes qui fuyait.
