Reviewed By geoffroyg69La chambre est correcte mais sans plus. Les murs ne sont pas très épais, voisins bruyants. Le petit déjeuner est une catastrophe, certes pas cher, mais pas de produit frais ni maison, et pas de qualité. En résumé, ce n'est pas très cher, mais je préfère payer plus pour avoir de meilleurs prestations, surtout qu'il existe des petits dèj pour le même prix avec une qualité bien supérieur !

Reviewed By GeghardLa Nouvelle is not easy to reach in the Cirque de Mafate. However, due to the absence of a road it is a unique place do hike and to relax. The gite is quite simple on one hand but on the other quite comfortable for such a remote place. The double room was particularly nice, but one has to get adapted to the fact that there no glass windows but just open windows with wooden shutters. Douches were clean and functioning well. A nice experience was the creole cooking with the owner (you have to book in advance). We prepared rougail saucisse as appetizer for the 'cooks' and cari poulet for the whole gîte. The meal ended with flambéed rhum caramelisé... One of the best creole meals we had in La Reunion.

At the Wake up we enjoyed the wonderful view from inside Mafate

At Dany is situated at the heart of the small village of big pond (Reunion Island) at 1 am of walking(step) since short wood.You will find a warm welcome there, the peace and the freshness of the national park.He(It) offers you a panoramic view on the abrupt(steep) slopes of the big pond.He(It) has a capacity of accommodation(hosting) of 15 persons.

Reviewed By DocSnyder22hiked down to grand bassin in the evening and were really lucky to get the last room in this super friendly gite (we did call ahead and told them we would join for dinner). The rooms are very simple, but very clean and airy. Bathroom and Toilets are shared, but extraordinary clean and well maintained. Hosts are super friendly (for example they handed us anti-mosquito spray on arrival, because we didn't bring any) and the food was just amazing. highly recommended.

Reviewed By sabinOz_11Thanks to Alex and his sister Françoise, I still felt very well looked after even in the middle of the famous Grand Raid race happening on the street in front of the Gite. In fact, I should not even write this review, it will make it harder for me to book this magic place next time! The two hosts work hard to make this place special. Come, enjoy their friendly company, it will make Cilaos even more special.

One of Mafate's nicest gîtes
Reviewed By champacThis is one of the nicest gites in Mafate. It's located high on a small plateau (about 900m) with a great view and the buildings are surrounded by what can almost be described as a lawn. There are three bungalows - two for four people each, and one with two rooms for four or five people. Each bungalow has its own bathroom and toilet. The owners are pleasant and the evening meal and breakfast very decent. Recommended.

Une belle adresse
Reviewed By Thomas KSuperbe lodge dans une propriété au pied du village d'Hell Bourg. L'absence des propriétaires (a priori désormais expatriés en Asie) a été compensé par la présence de leur ami Maximin qui nous a accueillli et qui s'est plié en quatre pour rendre ce séjour agréable (merci encore pour le café péi et les grenades!) Le lodge est décoré avec soin par la propriétaire et est idéal pour une famille, mais peut être un peu grand et du coup un peu cher pour un couple. Dommage qu'il n'y ait pas de petit déjeuner proposé et que l'éclairage dans la pièce de vie du lodge soit vraiment si minimaliste. Sans la présence des propriétaires, le domaine manque un peu de vie et nous aurions apprécié pouvoir échanger avec eux, néanmoins cela reste une étape agréable à Hell Bourg

Beautiful setting and perfectly adequate for a night in the village.
Reviewed By jennilazWe had a double room with 'sanitary' and it was perfect for a night in the village. We did not eat in the gite as we had our own food. Take your own t.paper and towel though. We even had hot water in the shower and that was a real bonus. We overlooked the mountains and even lying on the bed (tired from our days hike) we could witness the sunset and the clouds coming in and out. It was very beautiful and we would come again without a doubt.
