The state of Arizona is one that features a fantastic diversity of landscapes and areas of geological interest. North Arizona is famous for the Grand Canyon, a colorful chasm with steep rocky walls more than a mile deep and stretching some 277 miles alongside the Colorado River. Other notable destinations in North Arizona include Flagstaff set alongside the San Francisco Peaks which has the largest ponderosa pine forest, Museum of Northern Arizona, and is close to a number of national parks and monuments. Glendale Public Library

This community library is nestled to the south of the Saguaro Ranch Park an has a spill-over of peacocks, pea hens and seasonal chicks from the neighbors. Watch where you step. The structure is surrounded with a variety of low water plants with educational signs to encourage planting desert style and conserving water. I attended on a day when the local seed library was present, they set up in the lobby. You can check out different types of desert and food seeds and are encouraged to bring some back after your harvest. Inside the library the staff is helpful and the electronic card catalogs are easy to follow. The selection of media is broad and the children's section was active. Libraries are no longer the "hush spot" but there are quiet areas set aside. The library offers free cards for those in the City of Glendale, those outside that boundary are offered with a small fee. There is a busy calendar of events to check out, stop on by!

There were many parking places. There were a library and the Municipal. It was closed. We went all around the library. The City Hall is at this place as well.
