10 Lessons & Workshops in Island of Hawaii That You Shouldn't Miss

November 29, 2021 Leonarda Pillsbury

Life on the Big Island is a little bit slower… and locals like it that way. The natural beauty and ecological features of the island are a draw for nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts. Test your chutzpah at Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, home to the longest volcanic eruption in recorded history, or climb to the indescribably beautiful summit of Mauna Kea. At the end of the day, there’s nothing more refreshing than a quivering plate of fresh poke, followed by a fruity shave ice.

Fuku Bonsai Cultural Center

The modest Fuku-Bonsai Cultural Center is co-sponsored by Fuku-Bonsai Inc. ( a working bonsai nursery who acts like a "B-Corp" and invites visitors who enjoy talking with our staff) and the 501(3)(c) Mid-Pacific Bonsai Foundation (whose volunteers assist with maintaining the collections and grounds and participate in the educational activities). The varied collection include extensive educational exhibits. The sales area allows selection of certified True Indoor Bonsai(tm) to be shipped to all parts of the US. Beginner, intermediate, or advanced workshops are often cited as the "high-lights" of a Hawaiian vacation and while we do not do any amount of advertising, most of our sales and visitors are repeat or by word of mouth as Fuku-Bonsai began in 1972 and have published over 100 articles in national and international bonsai magazines. Come discover the beauty of bonsai, the serenity of nature, and the Spirit of Hawaii!

Healing Alchemy Massage & Holistic Wellness

Experience the bliss of a skillful massage, tailored specifically to your needs. My name is Brenna Moore, and it is a true joy to share healing space with you. I create a healing experience that helps you balance on all levels: body, mind, and spirit. My home office is conveniently located near Magic Sands (La'aloa) Beach, so you can enjoy your healing session and go jump in the ocean afterwards if you wish! Your session includes aromatherapy, hot towels, and complimentary optional add-ons: Cupping therapy and Vibrational Sound Therapy. You will emerge feeling totally renewed, with less pain and more freedom in your body. My unique style of massage combines deep, specific work with nurturing, fluid, full body strokes in the style of Hawaiian Lomilomi. The results will have you breathing deeper, feeling more relaxed, fluid, and present.
