This was one of my favourite resorts in the Yasawa islands. Best menu, nice beach, and the staff was nice. The snorkeling was great! Schools of fish ten yards in! The garden bure was lovely and close to the water.

Truly Paradise!

Reviewed By Hamishduff

This was really one of the best resort holidays we've had! Stunning location, wonderful friendly service - what a beautiful experience! The house reef is great snorkelling - incredibly diverse fish and coral right off the beach. We also went on the daily snorkelling trips to local reefs, and a night snorkelling experience which was pretty cool. The compulsory meal plan is excellent value - the chef is superb and we dined like kings every day. We'll be back again sometime soon!

Incredibly Hospitality

Reviewed By zachcG3264OS

We went to Octopus Resort for our honeymoon and unfortunately tested positive for COVID on arrival. As per Fiji Government rules, we had to isolate for 7 days. This left us scared as we were in a foreign country and forced to completely rely on our hotel for food/medication/testing etc… We could not have found ourselves in better hands. The folks at Octopus made us feel at home, bringing food and medication to us whenever we needed. They had a plan in place and were very organized. The food was great and the beachfront Bure that we stayed in was beautiful as well. We particularly liked the outdoor shower. I want to give a special shoutout to Tiffany, Jeff and Jimbo along with the rest of the staff that made our stay so enjoyable during these challenging circumstances. We hope to return to enjoy the full amenities of Octopus Resort soon!

Best holiday ever!

Reviewed By Anne H

Navutu Stars resort has everything - with only 10 bures and so many friendly staff, our every need was catered for. The bures were lovely and very clean, being serviced twice daily. The food was great - plenty of fish and lobster on the menu, but also meat for those who like it. Half board was plenty since breakfast was so filling even though it was called "continental", and the three course dinners very filling and delicious. We did lots of snorkelling by boat from the island, to beautiful coral reefs that had a wonderful mix of hard and soft corals. The staff were so welcoming and friendly, it felt like we were leaving friends when we had to drag ourselves away after 9 nights in this beautiful place.

Barefoot Manta Island Resort

"Going Barefoot" is about the feeling of freedom and living in harmony with our environment. We don't refer to our island as a "resort". Our eco-lodges are about living simply and sustainably. Rather than a tourist destination run by technology, Barefoot is a concept fuelled by feeling. Our island is deliberately uncomplicated, unfussy and unpretentious. For both guests and staff, the sensational natural environment - land, sea and air - brings about a special frame of mind - carefree, receptive and aware. Barefoot Island, known traditionally as Drawaqa Island, lies in the Southern Yasawa Islands of Fiji. The breath-taking coral gardens, situated just off the coastline are amongst the finest in the world. We offer visitors a tranquil environment, with the gentle sound of the waves lapping the shore. Our eco-lodge is the perfect destination for nature lovers in search of a one of the few Fijian islands unspoiled by man. Guests can expect unparalleled manta ray safaris in one of the best locations for dive enthusiasts: spectacular snorkelling and excursions, beautiful coastal and forest trails, visits to nearby Fijian villages, kayaking...the list is endless. Step onto our island and lose yourself in the world of Blue Lagoon and Castaway. Allow yourself to settle into "Fiji Time," and you'll come to discover a virtual treasure trove of things to explore - both on land and in the surrounding waters.

Best staff in the Yasawa Islands

Reviewed By S9084XPjustinm

Michael, Illy, Rob and Mirko made the stay worth every penny. Events were fun, beaches were nice, beachfront bure was lovely. Food was decent. Cookie was a great host. My only complaint is the overwhelming and overcrowded manta ray viewing. Too many resorts sending too many boats at once, despite Robs amazing effort, the crowd from too many resorts scared these beautiful animals. Please limit these visits as blue lagoon cave limits theirs, less is more!

The best staff we have encountered, ever

Reviewed By benjaminsreviews

We stayed five nights at Mantaray Island Resort in May 2022. It was an ideal place to relax and forget the stressors of home. Having the reef right on the beach at the front of the resort meant you can just put your snorkel and flippers on and you're there. There were so many fishes and beautiful coral, and the snorkelling was easy for beginners. The channel where the Manta rays travel to feed is minutes away and that was a captivating experience (not scary at all, even for those a little nervous about being on the ocean). Above all the positives about Mantaray Island Resort is the staff. We have never encountered staff so committed, friendly, and warm. It is the kind of spirit that cannot be taught. Special thanks to Rosa, Mere, Dani, Tiki, Joe, Save, Knox, Wati, Sai, and Inoke for making our trip so unforgettable.

Beautiful property, Amazing staff, Rude and pushy resort owner

Reviewed By icyeh

I enjoyed my stay at Boathouse Nanuya. The staff members are all very friendly, accommodating, and made my stay very comfortable. The welcome song and Isa Lei farewell song from the staff were also such a nice and personal touch. My one complaint is that the owner of the resort made me very uncomfortable from the moment I arrived, as he treated me like nothing but dollar signs. Although I was one of the only guests at the resort during my stay, he never bothered to introduce himself or learn my name. Yet each time I saw him, he was so pushy for me to spend my money. One morning, I wasn't even finished with my breakfast when he came over asking me what kind of pizza I wanted for lunch. When I told him I wasn't sure if I would be having lunch at the resort (as I planned to explore the island that day), he was very clearly annoyed as he just grunted and walked away without another word. Another time he did this same thing was when I returned from seeing the Sawa-i-Lau Caves with some friends I met. He very abruptly approached me and asked why I went to the caves with them instead of with the resort. When I told him it was because the resort was going to charge me for 2 people to take me to the caves (as they have a 2-person minimum for this excursion), he once again said nothing, grunted, and just rolled off in his golf cart. I felt obliged to leave this review so that other travelers have a heads up of the way this owner clearly has no problem treating his guests.

We took Seabus to Nacula Island on a very windy day. It was great to come ashore and be greeted by such friendly people. Our bungalow on the beach had fantasic ocean views and a nice little patio area to sit on. There was a hammock right in front too. The food was good expect fish, rice, and root vegetables. Breakfast was usually pancakes. The natural beauty of the area is just amazing. The other guests at the resort were friendly and we enjoyed conversations with all of them at meals. It was a very relaxing stay and we would go back.

Authentic Fijian homestays in real villages. White sand beaches and untouched reefs just in front of your traditional beachfront bure. We got 3 bures in Navotua village, 2 bures in Naisisili village and 2 bures in Taven Homestay near Naisisili village, all on Nacula island.

Gorgeous family and authentic village experience, rustic charm in a cute thatched hut. Delicious food beautifully presented looking out to idyllic sea views. Plus a bonus of fresh cake made daily! You are made to feel part of the family and village as soon as you arrive. Everyone is warm and friendly even the dogs! You can visit local 'resorts' for a cold drink if needed otherwise enjoy a digital break with no wifi and limited electricity. This is a homestay so do not expect resort cleanliness, I suggest you take a mosquito net also, we loved it and would return!
