Disappointing experience
Reviewed By 616ewelinadI was very disappointed with the hotel's staff. I never leave negative reviews but both hotel managment and potential clients should be aware of this. I have reserved the winter romantic getaway promotion for myself and my partner (with 3 course dinner, 2 course lunch, welness, view point, welcome fruit basket and welcome bottle of wine, late check included), and when I got to the room, there was no welcome gifts. My partner came down to reception to inform them of the mistake, and their answer was "we don't have it on the system and we can't honour any of that". Great! So due to their system fault, they were not able to honour the conditions of the reservations and they didn't even offer partial refund. The reception didn't follow up to understand why it didn't appear on their system, simply they blamed me for booking it incorrectly where I definitely booked it the correct way, because I ensured that the promotion code is included, and yes, yes it was. Very disappointing. This would never take place in an actual 4 star hotel on the West of Europe. After the incident, we felt very negative vibe from reception not even saying hello to us or giving ua looks for I believe being "demanding guests" since we have paid for this. This stay was supposed to be my birthday treat, and they absolutely destroyed the weekend. At the same time, we got a confirmation that they would be able to cater for vegans. During breakfasts vegan people could eat 1 particular bread and jam and some fruit unless it was already eaten by other guests. That's it. One bread type and jam and maybe pineapple. No ham/cheeses/butter/eggs alternatives. Nothing. For dinner, the guests have about 10 different meal options and they all look amazing. For vegans? Fries and vegetable salat. Not one hot meal replacement, you don't eat meat or cheese? Eat raw salad. This isn't acceptable and this clearly isn't "catared for vegans" but "we happen to have salad and fries since other guests would like that too. It's not difficult to make a soup without cream, or to make curry without meat. Thank God, I got only 2 nights in the hotel because on salads only (and bread and jam) you wouldn't be able to function long term.

Wonderful summer hotel for hiking in the High Tatras
Reviewed By jrf25Our room was wonderful - large with a kitchenette and a nice patio where we ate breakfast and lunch. The location is fantastic and it is an easy uphill walk to two restaurants, a mini-market, butcher and the Sibir stop of the Tatry Electric Railway (you can buy tickets at Villa Siesta or the mini-market). The wifi was not as fast as we would have liked. It was functional but not great for streaming. Stary Smokevec proper was just 1.5k away, which had a slightly larger grocery store (only slightly). Easy access to amazing hikes by taking the train. It was a great stay.

Good friendly hotel
Reviewed By edisonr435This was our second time staying in that hotel and I must say it’s a good hotel with friendly stuff and with plenty activities to do for the kids. It’s located right at the bottom of the Tatra mountains so it is a perfect location if you going to ski or just to walk around. Food is excellent too.

The guesthouse is situated in the center of Stary Smokovec in a quiet location with a beautiful view of the High Tatras, just 3 minutes walk from the funicular to Hrebienok and 5 minutes from the Tatra tram and bus station. It is also an excellent starting position for hiking, winter sports, as well as wellness and swimming in the surrounding hotels. Hotel guests have free lockable parking directly in front. If you plan to stay in the High Tatras, active vacation or just relax in a clean and quiet environment, go to bed Villa Kunerad, surely you will enjoy it with us.

Reviewed By Florian VModern resort. Breathtaking environment, clean and comfortable rooms, excellent meals. Near the cable car. Helpful staff. We have been there many times, but we never found any problem. We like the others Aplend restaurants and hotels, for example Kamzik (restoran and hotel).

Amazing Stay

Bright and spacious room, plenty of room in wardrobes, writing desk, accessible plugs, fridge, bathroom modern and clean. Hot breakfast was served including barista coffee. Also great value for money. Highly recommended.

A gem in the mountains!
Reviewed By David_R_EnglandThis place is an absolute gem! For a start, it is very convenient, a short walk from the TEZ railway station and with a supermarket within walking distance. The highlight was my balcony with its incredible view. I also appreciated the large rooms with their simple but tasteful decoration. The owners speak English (and other languages) fluently, and are generous with their time and extensive local knowledge. Follow their advice and you will find many good walks to explore the mountains. And of course they know about the various restaurants and other attractions in the area. Of course the reason to stay here is not so much the Penzion as the whole environment to which it gives access.

Nice mountain atmosphere
Reviewed By Roland NCame for 1 night so we could leave early to Slavkovsky stit. Simple but nice and clean mountine hotel, with kind staff, beautiful view and good restaurant. Dinner was tasty. Hotel is reachable by kind of tram going from Stary Smokovec or by walk (1hour). Hotel is perfect base for hikers. Little improvement: check in till 17h00 sounds too early but staff accepted later arrival. Restaurant is opened till 20h00 and kitchen till 19h30.
