Lovely pousada!
Reviewed By Pippa WStayed for 5 nights in Jan 2021. The pousada is lovely! Room are nice and well appointed, the gardens around the pool area very relaxing, as are the hammocks outside each room. The breakfast was very good too. Rooms had coffee making facilities. The hotel staff were all friendly and helpful, and provided recommendations on eg tour guides. There were some nice extra touches - eg coffee and cakes put out for guests in the afternoon, room towels artfully arranged into animal shapes on the bed each day etc. There's a small games room and gym area by the pool which is great to have, but both are in need of updating and maintenance due to some broken or missing equipment. We stayed in high season which meant some days we had to wait a little while for a breakfast table - not complaining though because the staff were taking care to ensure tables were socially distanced and this meant reduced seating capacity. The pousada is about 10 min walk from the main restaurant area of Pipa; it's very near the road to Praia do Amor.

Reviewed By Alexander MEverything, except the rooms, is fabulous at Pousada Arriba. The pool and the grounds are beautiful and staff is warm and friendly. The rooms need updating. More tables, new beds. They’re okay, but not up to the quality of the pousada’s exterior, which is lovely. That said, I highly recommend this place. The value can’t be beat. It’s close to everything, provides a fantastic breakfast and a nice clean pool.

Beautiful, luxurious boutique hotel!
Reviewed By DelfinoEdwardThis is a lovely boutique hotel located in the tourist town of Pipa, in Rio Grande do Norte. They have a total of 30 bungalows, and half of them have private pools. We opted for a bungalow with a pool and it was worth the difference in price (which wasn’t much). The room had a king-sized (and very comfortable) bed; the room was large and very attractive; the bathroom has a tub for two. The manager told me the hotel has been open about 6 years, but it took the owners about 15 years to grow all the plants on the grounds. There are coconut trees, orchids, many flowering tropical plants and lovely lawns for you to enjoy. “Bupitanga” means “red land” in Tupi-Guarani (the language of the indigenous Indians of Brazil). They probably gave it this name because the hotel sits on a high red clay plateau above the beach (called the Chapadão, or “plateau”). The hotel manager Cleber, our waitress Carol and the waiter at the pool (Charles) as well as the staff at the reception were all incredibly professional, friendly and helpful and added to a wonderful experience.

The whole experience was amazing, the hotel style and close contact with nature provides an excellent option for an escape and relaxing time.

Here's the rundown: The good: INCREDIBLE grounds, fascinating variety of swimming pools, really great food, best EVER (no exaggeration!) breakfast spread (Grand Hyatt Singapore comes 2nd), good location. Staff (particularly the bar / restaurant staff) are sincere and truly nice folks who enjoy their jobs. The not so good: Staff are lacking in training. At this price point (~US$400/night +), I would expect little things to be done right - 3 towels for three people (not two, or 1), minimal water to be left behind as 'courtesy', and maintenance of rooms to be up to scratch. The bad: Some rooms are approaching 25+ years old since they were last updated. Gisele Bundchen slept on my bed in 2004!!! It's clear from my 10 days spent on the property(ies) that they place an incredible amount of attention on the beautifully manicured landscaping and well cared for pool (too much chlorine at times, by the way). However, little things such as reliable A/C, taps that don't fall off, doors that lock properly, and wardrobe inner walls that are actually attached are a must! The property's obvious focus on external groundskeeping over their rooms is a stark contrast. Lastly, the 'gym' at the Resort property is DISGUSTING and falling apart. Come on guys, either have a proper gym or get rid of it. The current gym is EMBARRASSING!!! Would I come back again? YES - Like the very fun / nice group of German / Dutch / Portuguese / Italian families that come back to this hotel year after year, despite the myriad 'small' issues that would drive anyone prone to 'first world problems' nuts, Pipa is an amazing and geographically / naturally blessed, the food is amazing (unless you're a vegan / vegetarian - then consider not coming at all!), and the hotel properties TRULY enable you to relax and 'disconnect' from the trials and tribulations of 'back home'. Furthermore, upon checking out, I approached the General Manager with some feedback in line with the above, and he mentioned that a 'containing full of goods from Bali' was en route to Pipa in order to update the last remaining 'old rooms' in the room. I look forward to re-visiting once the rooms have been finally updated (April 2020 estimate). However, I do hope Fernando, the GM can do a better job as it pertains to delivering true five star service / treatment at the price point being charged at this hotel. Lastly, it's unclear if they plan on adding additional 'family services' to draw more family with younger kids - a small kids play center / babysitting services would make a MASSIVE positive difference.

Good hotel, needs to improve service
Reviewed By wanderlust_tamGood hotel, comfortable bed and bedroom, dark enough to get a good sleep. Big bathroom with 2 showers. Great pool area. Complaints: we asked for our room to be clean on the first day and left our keys with the receptionist in the morning, when we returned at 16:30 the room was still not cleaned, it was cleaned only at 7pm. The next day they left no soaps and the day after they left no shower mats. We had to asked them to bring it. We ate 3 times at the restaurant and 2/3 times the food was cold. To sum up, for the price we paid we expected a better service.

Reviewed By timmyhoskA new hotel in Pipa.. staff were fantastic, happy and hard workers… breakfast was very good…room size was also excellent and well located to the Main Street and within 10-15 minutes walking distance to beach… hotel did not reach 5 stars as they had no facilities for our baby ie cot and high chair… which was strange.. also some of the guests would not wear masks inside the reception or in the restaurant… pool was a good size and lunch/ dinner menu was also good

Indeed very good value for money - I recommend!
