Good accommodation but very cold when temperature drops

Reviewed By Overseas_Aussie

Great views from our unit which was directly on the hills above the water. Caravan Park type units with sufficient amenities for our stay. When the temperature dropped the unit was cold which suggested no insulation. The park was outside the town so needed a car to get groceries etc.

Freycinet Waters

Freycinet Waters is in the heart of Swansea village. Everything is within an easy flat walk. Our property looks across the road to the delightful Great Oyster Bay. Water views can be found from most rooms and definitely from the breakfast room. Eat a filling 'English' breakfast while gazing out at the water. A great way to start the day. For those who are adventurous the menu includes black pudding and haggis. Our colour scheme reflects the water and the hues of the great sunrises & sunsets that you can see from the property. A 1930's style at the front of the house and a more modern day feel at the rear gives Freycinet Waters that light airy feel. Our prices include breakfast (or breakfast provisions), WiFi (the modern essential) and a small port to help you rest at the end of a busy day.

An excellent host

Reviewed By Leigh C

We appreciated Karen ( host ) taking us in at short notice due to our original place booked having temporarily closed due to a covid issue. Easy to find this place as is on main road into town and close to cafes/restaurants/shops. Our room was 'cosy' but had all the basics we needed, also had a small balcony with a table and 2 chairs and you had a lovely view over the water. Slept in a comfortable bed and in the morning enjoyed a good breakfast in a sunlit alcove area. We had fruit, and then a cooked breakfast - eggs, bacon, tomatoes, also toast& jam, orange juice and plunger coffee. Good position to stay as easy day trip drive to Freycinet National Park and Coles Bay.

Com was of a modern clean open residence The rate I was very highI actually paid similar in Hobart in a 5 star hotel including breakfast I feel that’s a misrepresentation I did complain and was told if I’d looked further on the booking site I would have seen the cabins I’d have never booked in this poor quality accomodation especially at 5 star prices Tv doesn’t work properly, no milk in fridge ( they were providing tea coffee etc) Location is ok but accomodation 30 years out of date !!

Excellent base to explore Freycinet

Reviewed By JohanH842

This is a rare find. A beautiful restored historic home decorated tastefully in a colonial style. Gail is an exceptional host who went out of her way to make us feel welcome. Nigel prepares a great traditional breakfast (don’t miss out on his scrambled eggs) The attractions of Freycinet are within easy reach and makes for a good day trip but then you can leave the crowds behind and return to peace and tranquillity. Highly recommended!
