Great hotel….but choose room carefully!
Reviewed By Yve_honest_reviewsWe are just back from a wonderful stay at this hotel. However, I do feel the need to warn those with young families that you need to choose your room carefully. The rooms close to the church tower will be disturbed by the bells ringing every 15 minutes during the night!! As a result, I didn’t get any sleep the first night. When I complained the next day, the lady behind the desk told me it must have been a once off as the bells shouldn’t ring at night. After a second night with the same problem, the other members of staff confirmed in the morning that it was always the case that the bells rang every 15 minutes at night! As such, they upgraded us to a much better room overlooking the lake where we couldn’t hear the bells at all! I really wish we had been in that lovely room overlooking the lake for all of our stay. We would definitely like to go back, but will be much wiser on booking a room strictly at the front next time!

During the day many different walking paths and biking routes allow to discover the beauty of the Salzkammergut region. For cultural highlights the cities Bad Ischl, Gmunden and Salzburg are not far from St.Wolfgang.

The room was very comfortable - I thought I would have a problem with the shower being exposed into the room, but there were drapes for privacy. The view from the terrace is sensational. Service is excellent, and they were so kind to me - I had an obsession with the cardigans the staff was wearing, and somehow they located one in my size, without the logo, so I could buy one. Now THAT is service! The restaurant Ledererhaus is great, breakfast is great, oh, how I wish I were there again. Of course with this review, it will be even harder to book a room - and deservedly so - they are at the top of accommodations in Sankt Wolfgang!

The private beach was amazing and the hostess were very friendly and helpful. We are surely going to be back. Thank you so much for a great time!

Perfect background for hiking in the mountains or doing nothing by the lake. Perfect food! Staff nice, helpful - unobtrusive. Family atmosphere.

Lovely hotel with good restaurant and excellent staff
Reviewed By charliemalarkeyWe loved our stay here. The location is perfect, easy walking distance into town but in a quiet location on the lake. We stayed in two rooms over our stay, thanks to a complimentary upgrade, and whilst perhaps a little tired both were nicely decorated and very comfortable. The communal areas are stylish and comfortable, and the terrace has wonderful views over the lake. Breakfast offered a good range of options. The restaurant was very good for both lunch and dinner, although I would recommended exploring the options in town as well. Whilst the hotel has a private beach on the lake, it is across the road and has no facilities. However this wasn't a big inconvenience and seems quite usual. By and large the staff were very friendly and helpful, forgiving our almost non-existent German! We'd definitely recommend staying here and would be happy to return.

Reviewed By Siobhan7818Absolutely beautiful pension in a fantastic location. It is just a short walk to the lake and restaurants. The room was immaculately clean with a very comfortable bed. There was a lovely balcony which was great to sit on and enjoy the views. The breakfast was exceptional. We have never had such a nice breakfast anywhere we have stayed. There was a vast choice of pastries, fruit, yogurts, meats and cheeses. Our extremely kind host even provides a hot eggs option and she remembered our preferences every morning! The host is so friendly and she was attentive and kind ensuring we had everything we needed. This property is great value considering the very high quality and service. Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting St Wolfgang and we hope to stay again next year. Thank you to our lovely host- we had a fantastic time!

Opened in April 2015, B&B Das Franzl is 800 metres from the shore of Lake Wolfgang, where guests can use a private lake access with a sunbathing lawn. The garden features a small herd of alpacas. Each room is individually furnished has a balcony with mountain and garden views, a flat-screen cable TV with a DVD and Blu-ray player, wooden floors, and a bathroom. The fitness room at Das Franzl B&B can be used free of charge. At a surcharge, a sauna and massages are available 800 metres from the property at the partner property. Free private parking is available on site, and hiking and cycling trails start right outside. A bus stop is 50 metres away, and the centre of St. Wolfgang is 3.5 km away.

Reviewed By AvichaiG1Very nice hotel in St Wolfgang. The hotel offers family and regular rooms. The decoration is special and uses a lot of reused items. The decorators are the owners. The hotel has a restaurant for dinners. You have to advise the owners on opening day and hours. Breakfast is served every morning. Very nice and full with goods. In the hotel you can find pony horses and several alpacas. The owners are young and friendly couple. Speaking German, English and Little Hebrew.

We were very lucky to be there for May Day and were witness to the pole going up in the middle of the town. The staff was terrific. There is no AC but if you keep your window open, you will enjoy a nice breeze off the lake. If you are considering St. Wolfgang, this hotel is a top choice,

Reviewed By DagwoodbillyWe recently stayed five nights DB&B at this delightful family owned hotel. All the rooms are uniquely furnished to the very highest standards of comfort and very welcoming. As a world traveller I would rank this hotel as one of the nicest ever stayed at particularly being a family owned and managed establishment. If you are looking for a chill out place to relax and unwind this place should surely satisfy. The cuisine is simple, freshly prepared and tasty with adequate choice for breakfast and dinner. Alexandra and her husband are charming hosts who go the extra mile to be helpful and accommodating. We wrote prior to our visit and requested a nice room on a high floor and our wish was granted. But all rooms seen as passing were also very pleasant. St Wolfgang is a lovely old Austrian town well worthy of spending some quality time in. He highly recommend both the area and hotel for a relaxing stopover. Not forgetting their private beach area for relaxing and swimming, accessed by your room key and a 20 minute walk from the hotel.
