Maidenhead Country Lodge is a highly recommended, 4 star guest house located in Queenstown. Maidenhead has thirteen luxury rooms all with en-suite bathroom or shower. All the rooms have views of the surrounding mountains and the beautiful garden where ostriches and other small animals watch the fallow deer graze. We are situated on the R67 Melton Gardens, the road to the lodge is about 500m gravel road, and from the CDB we are 3kms from town

Overnight stop to Knysna
Reviewed By michrobmartinWe relocated from KZN to Knysna and decided to stay overnight here to ease our trip. The establishment accomodates pets and that suited us perfectly. Our large dog and son were put up in their own room complete with enclosed garden. Both rooms we stayed in were more than adequate for an overnight stay. If you have pets and need a stop over between KZN and the Western Cape, this establishment will do fine.

Reviewed By PontoefIm not sure how this gets a 4 star from the SA tourism board - either it is very old or paid for. The front desk asked me to pay - having paid through expedia already. I paid for their most expensive room as I had to share the bed with a friend and we wanted a king. They put us in a small room. Fortunately I had the wearwithall to ask straight away. I paid £155 (R2750) for the room. As much as I pay for a great room at the Radisson Blu in Johannesburg. In this room there is no fridge, only one sachet of coffee and no milk, only creamer. There is no shampoo - when I asked they said the body was on the wall is for both. Any ladies out there will know you simply cannot use body wash for your hair. No conditioner. Now I know in cheaper hotels I wouldnt find these necessarily but given the remoteness of this town and the supposedly upmarket nature of this hotel I would expect a little more for my huge amount of money. The carpets are carpet tile and seen better days, not awful but not 5 star worthy. The decorating leaves alot to be desired with very outdated cupboards and hugely damged skirting and walls with terrible bodge jobs to fix it. I will say, at least the bedding is white and clean though the pillows are not very good, rather insipid items. I am very glad we are only here for one night. I hope the owner reads this and decided to redress some of the issues. The parking is great, I was hopeful, but reception area is not welcoming, in fact it feels like its in a cupboard. One plus, the aircon works.

Reviewed By nvente843190Really superb guesthouse and found the room very comfortable, neat and tidy. Breakfasts were great. Nice quiet part of town in upmarket suburb. Staff very friendly and flexible. Secure with remote gate.

Reviewed By Fanie NThe host and staff were so friendly and they made our check-in, stay, and check-out as easy as possible. Although it was a rainy weekend, we felt very safe as if we were at home. The whole atmosphere inside and outside the room was excellent.
