Kids loved it!
Reviewed By IS1117Took the family suite this time. The suite got 1 King bed room, 1 Living room and 1 kids room with bunk bed. Apparently hotel is more focus with kids and family, they have related activities through-out the whole day, which took off a lot of pressure for parenting.(I bought the full access package, included story telling, cooking class, parade, night light show..) Compare to my previous visit, they opened the guitar swimming pool this time, heated with Hot spring water(26 degree), which is very nice and warm, especially for my 1yrs old girl. Hot Spring area opened a new section with some special features, the fish therapy is very interesting. A Heineken Bar opened at their rooftop, difference from city hotel's sky bar, it is a comfortable experience and good for staring at stars, very trendy~ Over our expectation again, kids LOVE it, will return next year for sure!

Reviewed By theerikaStayed here while speaking at a forum conference. My non-smoking room was lovely--open concept design with a balcony and an at-an-angle sea view. It was sparkling clean BUT smelled quite musty. (I get asthma so even considered wearing a mask while in the room). The hotel realizes that they are overdue for a remodel and construction was happening at a furious pace (to be ready for the big March forum that takes place there annually). Bulldozers were just below my room tearing up one of the big reflecting pools at the hotel entrance, and the big kids pool appeared to be shut down for rennovations, as well. Only one of the elevators in my wing worked, as the other was under repair, slowing down movement. There was also drilling and hammering from about 8:30 until after 9PM each night. I was going to bed late and getting up early, so it did not matter too much to me, though it made for less that restful work time in the room. that said, the grounds of this hotel are lovely, and the Forum conference facility adjoins the hotel and it top notch. Afte the remodel and upgrade, I think things will be much better. If you are going for a conference,you'll be fine after March. If you are looking for a resort, I'd recommend you avoid this area (it is isolated--a gated island off an island) and there is really not much to do other than use the hotel facilities. To get to a beach, you need to take a boat. And the town of Boao is several miles away. I'd recommend basing yourself at Sanya instead...much more for tourists to do on that end of the island.

Great pools; excellent dinner buffet
Reviewed By Linda SGood value, great hot pools and cold swimming pools, location, dinner buffet, breakfast buffet. Well furnished rooms, good linens and towels. Pleasant staff - can usually find someone who speaks a little bit of English, and at least one quite well - we (eventually) had all our few basic requests fulfilled such as charging dinner to the room, fixing the room safe, getting the wifi code, luggage pick up from our room and getting a taxi at a requested time to the train station. The cheaper 'Superior' rooms are on islands quite far from lobby, food and main pools. Our room 6223 was on Kipool Island a 5 minute walk away with steep ramps and stairs, longer if you have little kids, are older or have mobility issues. The hallway floors have serious water stains. The room smelled a bit damp. Rock hard beds - I swear they're just quasi box springs with no mattress. Lacking some cleanliness (i.e.: filthy in room drinking glasses) but overall was good. Bathroom is okay size with a nice sink and good sized tub but the shower stall is pretty basic with a slight bad smell and some drainage issues. Water pressure is good with both hot and cold water. Mini-fridge, room safe, kettle, tea, hairdryer, bath robes, toiletries. Really appreciated the very good in room wifi. The Kipool Island rooms also share a nice large swimming pool and a very small hot tub but not as nice as the main pools and these pools were closed for maintenance both days of our stay. The main pools are excellent and the hot spring water is fabulous on your skin - no chlorine and doesn't dry you out. It's pretty clean with a few issues that didn't gross me out - some algae, etc. We saw them drain the hot water pools each of the two days of our stay but I wouldn't say they were 'cleaned' but it was still good to see the water being changed. The hot pools re-opened by 1pm and were topped up full by about 3pm. I would stay here again and I would recommend this hotel to you but I would just spend a bit more money for the larger Deluxe rooms to be in the main part of the hotel and closer to the main hot pools.

I registered late for the forum so all decent hotels were full. Avoid at all cost - i would prefer to drive an hour back and forth to Haikou then to stay here ever again! Total disappointment and rates as a 2 or 3 stars max.

Reviewed By yayu988Tropical rain most of the time. Fresh seafood at Tanmen just north of the resort was great. Need a car to navigate but getting one was difficult because one needs to have a China bank account for deposit to be returned after one month. Knowing Chinese would be more easier as most do not speak English. Local restaurants and bathrooms are of a different standard as in the US though much improved from years ago at tourist sites already in China.

Old buildings but good hot springs
Reviewed By Piyanuch PWe stayed in Building No.4. The rooms were old and had smell. The bathrooms seriously need renovation. The pool area were not bad. There were 2 hot springs pools and 1 warm swimming pool. All guests must wear swimming suits. The breakfast were limited but ok, mostly Chinese food.

Reviewed By Raymond Lsplendid view from villa, quiet and smiling staffs... villas located on the top the Longtan hill, you can get great ocean and mountain-river view from there. surrounded by mountains, it's really quiet and peaceful enough for a whole winter stay.

Not up to the Kempinski standard in know in Europe
Reviewed By AsingThis resort is managed by Kempinski but the the hotel is not up to the standard of European Kempinski's. When I walked into my room, I found the bathroom was dirty and after requesting a change I was given a new room. The new room had no hot water and even after two days, the problem was not fixed. Finishings in the villas are shaby with few decorations. It feels more like staying in a semi-furnished appartment than staying in a hotel. The restaurant food quality was very poor with few choices and very poor decor and atmosphere.
