Ti Plen Kreol

It is with great pleasure that Delphine and Jerome welcome you to the heart of a tropical garden with lush vegetation. You can relax by the pool or the beautiful river basin that borders the property. The place is a haven of calm and serenity.

Basic. Rooms are spacious and cosy, and host is friendly. Terrace available as common area, minimum effort made for comfort and decoration, this venue does not seem to attract backpacker crouds... No kitchen or cooking equipment available for hosts which is a problem for me if you call yourself a hostel.

Magnificent experience

This place is simply beautiful, and the owners thought of every detail. Thumbs up for the ecologically conscious approach. Very lovable animal housemates, as well :) We also enjoyed the fact to have English-spoken hosts, who took the time to show us around the garden and whose table d’hôte was simple and delicious.

Such a disappointment

Reviewed By Anne_11216

We had a frustrating and disappointing stay. Two things I wish I had known before booking this place: Firstly, the traffic noise is intense. The houses are right beside one of the most busy roads on the island, we were woken up at 6am by the morning rush hour and there is no peace and quiet on the terrace (we live in New York - we not difficult when it comes to noise). To make things worse, our host decided to undertake construction work right next to our terrace and when we complained, he reluctantly agreed to pause while we had breakfast, but nonetheless just continued. Secondly, the house is not the sleek chalet you see in the pictures, but a poorly executed DIY-project. The door to the bathroom only opens halfway, because a cabinet has been put up too close to it, the stairs are almost impossible to climb because they are uneven and too small, the kitchen cabinets are difficult to open and close, because they are skewed, the painting is badly done that everything feels dirty etc, etc. And while the instagramable trappings are in place, the basics - proper lighting, soap in the bathroom etc - are not. This place is dramatically overpriced and misrepresented on the internet. We regretted that we booked it for three nights but we were in the middle of the high season and we couldn’t find another place to stay on short notice.

Gite les manguiers

Fabulous homey bungalow near the beach

Reviewed By Rumskys

Our stay at the Gite les manguiers was wonderful from start to finish. I can't say enough good things about our host, Marie Jo. Her grandfather founded the place and 30 years later, the family's hospitality is as good as it gets. She contacted me before we even arrived in Guadeloupe to offer a car rental and discuss options. She speaks good English and it is easy to communicate with her. She picked us up at the airport, notifying us regularly as the traffic was bad. She even had cold drinks for us in the car, and arranged dinner AND breakfast for us due to our late arrival. The gite has everything you need, a clean bathroom with hot water, well functioning AC and mosquito net, a well stocked kitchen and space to eat inside and out, and two wonderful hammock racks (that may need their own review, they are so comfortable!). The grounds are full of flowering trees, beautiful birds and wildlife, and kept immaculate. We spent quite a bit of time just hanging out and enjoying the space. At one point the hot water heater was dripping and Marie Jo and her husband immediately solved the problem by replacing it, with absolutely no inconvenience to us. The internet also was challenging at times due to typical island life, but Marie Jo did her best to help us when she could. She also recommended nearby places to eat and a dive shop (Les Baillantes Tortue) that spoke English (and took us to the Jacques Cousteau underwater park for a fabulous snorkeling trip). She helped us figure out the bus system to go to hike the volcano. We went to the lovely nearby beaches several times for snorkeling. Laroux was our favorite due to the nice coral at the south end of the beach, about a 15 minute walk away, and we were impressed with how many fish we saw at both nearby beaches. The lovely town of Dehaies is a short bus ride (20 minutes) away and well worth a visit, especially for lunch. We had a lovely stay on this island and Marie Jo, her family, and her homey bungalow were a huge part of that. The quality of our stay far surpassed our limited budget; it is exceptional value for the area. I can't recommend it enough!

Ti T'Anse Village

Located halfway between Deshaies and Pointe-Noire, the residence Petite-Anse offers a wide choice of accommodation with varied amenities. Studio for 2 people, F2 for 3 or 4 people, all are equipped with air conditioning, flat screen, Wi-Fi, but also have access to an outdoor pool. The complex is at the foot of Petite-Anse beach where you can relax there. A real little paradise for holiday.
