When we checked into our room there was a chair with an attached swing out small table - this had dark sticky rings on it from a glass of a previous guest. Some of the wooden veneer on the shelf was gone exposing the material underneath, and the shower leaked. When we got our bill we were surprised to see a ten dollar 'tourism charge'. It's only ten dollars but feels like nickle and diming people to death. We had a harbour view room and the view was really nice. The staff were super friendly so for that reason I'll give it three stars. If it wasn't for the staff the rating would be two.

Reviewed By lisambrandt1This hotel is first rate. It has an unapologetic rock and roll vibe which we loved. Staff were all terrific. The room was beautiful and spotless. We were apprehensive about valet parking but it was quick and smooth anytime we wanted our vehicle. The restaurant Exile is excellent. They're building onto it and doubling its size. That's a smart move! It's a short walk to the heart of downtown.

Ramada St. John's recently completed a multi-million dollar renovation that included all guestrooms, public areas, restaurant and banquet/meeting rooms. All guestrooms are very tastefully decorated and are over-sized, offering free wireless hi-speed internet, large work desk, iron/board.

The room was very nice and had most everything you could need, like a microwave, mini fridge, coffee maker and desk. Could have used a little upgrade in the hallways, it looked a little old and outdated. But really clean. And a small table in room would have been great

Reviewed By mekwinterStayed two nights while visiting St John's. The hotel is located in a most residential location... making it nice and quiet for a good night's sleep. The staff were friendly and helpful... they are still having a person to pick out what you wanted for breakfast/ Overall, place is what you expected from a Super 8. But it is good value for the money.

Reviewed By TarraghSFirst time staying in this hotel and most likely the last. We, a party of 5 arrived at 2:20pm on a Friday. We had traveled 6.5 hours with a "team booking" for the U13 NL Volleyball Provincials. Went to check in and the room wasn't ready as check-in was at 3 - no issue there. We were told we could get a room on the 3rd floor or wait for "our room" as it was in the area where the other team members were staying. We opted to wait so we could be with the team. At 2:58pm, I checked on our room and it still wasn't ready so we continued to wait. Meanwhile, other team members and their families were all filing in (they had just arrived) but they all checked in fine and got their rooms. We finally got a room at 4:05pm (girls had to be at their 1st game for 4:30). When my husband and girls went to the room as they had to get changed, it was a room with only 1 bed - no good for 5 people. I was still at check-in because there was a huge mix up. Hubby had to leave me to deal with getting another room as they had to make the game. We were given a room on the lower floor. Room was great, just renovated, clean etc. I think we may have been the first ones to stay in it actually. I didn't know that the lower floor was where all the teenagers on hockey teams also staying there hung out though. From 9:30pm until about 12am there was dozens of kids running up and down the hallways, hanging out in the hallway at the end of the stairs and going up and down the elevator. Where were the parents???...they were either in one of the Salons, drinking and tearing it up or hanging out on other floors... in the hallways, sitting on coolers, drinking booze and having a grand time. It was such a blatant example of disrespect for anyone else staying there. I've stayed at several hotel chains internationally and locally, and this by far was the worst. I was sure to relay my disappointment during check out and I did receive a discount.

Reviewed By Tom HWe overnighted here after flying into St John's and picking up our rental car at the airport. The hotel is right across the street from the airport. We had a NS, King with fridge, microwave, coffee maker. There was a sofa bed and coffee table as well as desk and chair. Also chair and ottoman, very large room. everything was well kept and clean. Bathroom had walk in shower and was very clean. A couple of dining choices within walking distance. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Rate was decent for location. Glad we stayed here and would stay again.

GREAT PLACE TO STAY ON THE WEST COAST
Reviewed By rbthodgeGreat hotel and staff. Stayed here twice in a week - on our way north to L'anse aux Medows and on our way south to Twillingate. After a day of driving and/or hiking it was wonderful to relax in a warm pool and the hot tub and the kids to enjoy the pool slide. Several restaurants and fast food outlets are about 1 km away. Easy access on and off the Trans Canada east or west. Have already recommended to friends travelling in the area in a month and will not hesitate to stay here again in the future.

Reviewed By SandandsunshinePick up at the airport was fast and easy, by a professional and friendly person. Checking in was without issue by a welcoming staff member. Our room request was honored. The room was comfortable, clean, with lots of space and quiet. Breakfast consisted of good coffee, quality yogurt, fruit, hot and cold items. The breakfast area and food selection had plenty of space to social distance and functional, comfortable space. Tables were cleaned quickly by a man who was proud to do his job. We had to go back to the airport to pick up a rental and as the shuttle was 't running the hotel paid for the taxi. The parking area is well lite with plenty of good parking. All staff are professional and welcoming. Boston Pizza is right next door.
