Dreamy View and Location

Reviewed By tttora11

Spectacular views of Lake Iruka from room! Very friendly/helpful service (but I speak Japanese) Info available in English though. Isolated location but shuttle service from nearest station available if you book ahead. Large tatami-floor room with futon. Modern toilet and separate wash basin. Showers and large hot bath in communal area (men/women separate). Aircon to heat/cool room. Good wi-fi. Drink vending machines on each floor. No elevator to 2nd floor. Delicious Kaiseki style breakfast and dinner using local delicacies. Great base for exploring wonderful Meiji Mura (which I did for two days) 20-30 minutes walk away, or manager may kindly take you. For me it was a very relaxing get-away.

Thanks for the Umbrella

Arrived here at 1pm after biking all morning in the rain from Hikone. The lady behind the counter would not let me into my room until check in time at 3pm even though I was soaking wet and cold. She did give me an umbrella. I was easily able to walk to the Old Town Street and Castle. My room did have a great view of the castle. I had to keep my bike outside. The money machine in the family mart in the train station accepts foreign cards. None of the other banks or post office in town do.

Comfortable

Reviewed By TNJP_Explorer

After seeing the reviews, I was reluctant to stay but this was the only place we could find at the last minute. The rooms were clean and bigger than expected. No stains on the carpet in the rooms that we had. The beds were firm and a bit short but standard for Japan. We had two rooms and each had two twin beds. Each room had an air purifier and there was no tobacco smell in either room (and I am a non-smoker so I am quick to notice). Both rooms had a new plasma TV, no English channel (of course). Each rooms also had modern temperature control but you will need to read Japanese to use it properly. I was pleasantly surprised to find the hotel had free wi-fi (I saw the router sitting in the hallway so not sure if that is permanent). There are only a few parking spaces for cars but the hotel is a few minute walk from the station. The building is not easy to spot as it is in the shadow of a huge apartment block next door. Overall a comfortable place to rest while exploring the local area (if that is what you want to do).

I visited this Youth Hostel for one night stay with my wife and son. We started the next day for visiting Inuyama Castle from here. There are some types of rooms, and we stayed at Japanese styled 6-Tatami-mat room with a restroom and a washstand. Putting 3 Futon mats, we could sleep together comfortably. A large bathroom and a small bathroom are on the 1st basement. On the day we were, the large one was assigned for gents. The bathtub there was large enough for more than 10 people. Please note that any towels are not prepared for any rooms and bathrooms. Those who try to stay there should bring some or buy at the reception counter. The location of this facility is a little bit difficult to arrive in the night without GPS navigation. Total fee of our stay for one night was JPY7,400(=USD61.7) only. Very cheap but the quality was very nice.

This hotel is near Inuyama Train Station. Thus, it is very convenient to commute from here to Nagoya by train. Inuyama Castle is within walking distance of five minutes. The hotel is clean but the bathroom is small. The worst thing is that tabacco smoke is full in the corridors and I even smell it in my non-smoking room.

So bad

Reviewed By Von1955

I can’t think of one good thing to say about this place. It wasn’t just dirty it’s filthy. The toilets are disgusting. The onsen hot water didn’t work And the floor was plastic tiles which were loose and again dirty. If this place was cheap i could understand that the facilities are old but it is expensive and disgusting. I can’t understand how the top review could be genuine. This place should be closed
