Fabulously scenic location with a lovely ambience and excellent value
Reviewed By rifengozdThis in an amazing gem of a place with very friendly staff and a good restaurant and nice décor. The interior has a 1950's time warp feel with the very comfortable furniture style in the common parts of the hotel. Some of the interior in the hallways could be improved with a painted upgrade - but this is also part of the charm of the place. The hotel itself was excellent value . There should have been a better check for Covid vaccination / negative evidence as non was requested.

Fantastic hotel in Hornberg, very close to perfection
Reviewed By Lieven LWe had a fantastic holiday in Hornberg, Schwarzwald in Hotelmyhome. Good and adequate breakfast, very nice and extremely clean room. Good size bath room. Next doors you can eat in "zum taenhauser" which belongs to the same family as the hotel. Hornberg itself is nice to use as a base camp to go walking or hiking (download the schwarzwald app!). There is a Edeka supermarket at about 1km so you can also do the necessary grocery shopping really close. Triberg waterfalls really close. We really like this hotel and would not doubt a second to use it again!

Gastehaus Ursula is located on the Gutach river and the sound of it coursing along can cause you to fall asleep quite quickly. The town of Hornberg is a short hike away, along the river. The castle view is worth the hike. The family Kammerer were outstanding hosts as were their employees. There was a bicyclist who was also visiting, along with several couples. The property is pristine and the Kammerers were very nice. The location is 11 km from Triberg where the Gutach River is the highest waterfall in Germany. There is a very nice gift shop/cuckoo clock shop across the road. 30 minutes away is the Zell ceramic shop and is definitely worth a visit. I will return to Gastehaus Ursula without a doubt.

Comfortable Lodging and a Great Host
Reviewed By plschiltArmin Hartmann is the innkeeper for the Schuetzen. Armin has two buildings to offer guests lodging. The newer section is usually rented to temporary residents. However, the main house where the restaurant is situated is for those passing through town. We have been staying here for almost 25 years and the place is maintained beautifully with no sign of wear and tear. Breakfast consists of fresh rolls, meats, cheeses, and breakfast drinks - coffee, tea, juices, and milk. Armin will fix you an egg, if you ask. that said, I like to have what the Germans eat for breakfast. Give it a try!

Charming hotel in Hornberg
Reviewed By Kristina DThis was a typical German hotel with a few pleasant surprises. Our first surprise was that there is an elevator! It made carrying our bags that much easier. Next surprise was that we were in a corner room and had an octagonal alcove with a table and chairs. We could see the hauptstrasse and the castle from our windows. With the windows open we could also hear the town fountain gurgling. The bed was comfy, the hotel quiet. Everything was perfectly clean. Breakfast was very nice. Again a typical German breakfast with a few touches that took it up a notch or two. The bread table included fresh croissants. There were eggs made to order. The coffee was very good and brought to the table in individual China pots. The usual assortment of meats and cheeses included a lovely salmon spread and an herbed quark spread. Only caution is that the bathtub is about 20 inches tall, so a big step for anyone with mobility issues. Not a problem for us, but it could be for some. All desk and wait staff were very friendly.

-Under new administration- Nestled among wooded surroundings 2.5 km outside Hornberg, this country-style guest house is situated in the Black Forest. It offers free WiFi and simply furnished rooms. Each of the rooms at Pension Schwarzwaldblick is decorated in a traditional style and includes a private bathroom with shower. Some rooms come with a balcony, and the accommodation's communal balcony can be used by all guests. Guests at Pension Schwarzwaldblick are given a fresh breakfast buffet each morning. Hornberg also provides a range of local cafes and restaurants, where regional dishes can be enjoyed. The guest house is ideally located for exploring the Baden-Wurttemberg countryside on foot. Reviewed By marvellous_mumStayed in a 3 person apartment (read 1 open plan room) for 2 nights. Photos were a little misleading as they suggested a separate bedroom (to my eyes anyway). The location has nice views but be aware it's a long way from town and not really walkable (in the dark certainly). The additional bed did have bedding but we had to put the duvet cover etc on ourselves. Doesn't look like it's been decorated since the 1970s. Was clean in parts but had a grubby feel (skirting boards etc). Wouldn't stay here again. Also they only take payment in cash, there's a cash machine in the nearby village.

Excellent hotel in perfect location!
Reviewed By Jex_12I have stayed here twice - once with my wife and once on my own whilst hiking. Both stays have been fabulous! The hotel is on a 1000m high ridge line with amazing views down a valley. It is situated on a crossing of several of the Scharzwald hiking trails and the location is simply stunning. The hotel matches its location. The restaurant is large and makes the most of the fantastic views. The food is traditional German fare and all prepared to a very high standard. The rooms in the main part of the hotel are recently renovated to a very nice standard with an excellent bathroom. Both rooms I stayed in were standard yet had a large balcony accessed via patio doors and great views down the valley. This is a great hotel in a great location, highly recommended! We’ll be back. For motorbikes - there is a large tarmac parking area at the front of the hotel. It is on quite a slope but it is flat at the bottom. It is between the road and the hotel but it is very quiet!

Schönes Ziel für Familien mit kleinen Kindern
Reviewed By Martin EDas Hotel ist gepfegt und sauber man hat alles wie es in der Beschreibung steht. Leider steht aber auch das WiFi frei wäre. Leider werden einige Seiten von dem Hotel gesperrt. Was auf nachfragen rechtliche Gründe haben soll ( da hab ich weltweit auf Flughäfen nie Probleme gehabt). Das war überhaupt das erste mal das ich so etwas erlebt habe. Die Küche ist wirklich hervorragend alle Speisen waren sehr gut. Das Hallenbad war sauber und in gutem Zustand sowie die Saunen hervorragend. Alles rundrum eine schöne Zeit. die kinder konnten sich die Zeit mit Kettcar und Schaubauernhof vertreiben.

Reviewed By Denis SWir waren über SIlvester im Hinterhauensteinhof und waren rundum zufrieden. Wir hatten ein ruhiges Zimmer mit schwarzwäldischen Interieur. Das Zimmer hatte sogar ein Flat-TV, sowie Waschbecken und Balkon. Zum Frühstück gab es jeden Morgen, selbst produzierte Wurst aus dem angegliederten "Specklädle". Die Inhaber waren sehr nett und man fühlte sich rundum gut aufgehoben. Die herrliche Landschaft und Abgeschiedenheit ringsum taten Ihr übriges. Über ein paar Spinnenweben und Staubkörner konnten wir dabei getrost hinwegsehen! Wir würden/werden wiederkommen!
