Basic but adequate

Reviewed By Clarencephil

This is only a 2 star hotel, so let's be reasonable in the expectations.Since we did not intend to spend much time inside the room it was adequate in the circumstances. The room was comfortable and the bathroom modern. Good pressure in the shower . Soundproofing is not great and we could hear our neighbours. WiFi worked well in the room and at the pool. Good buffet breakfast. Parking turned out OK despite our worries when we arrived since there is a lot of traffic on the beach road. The only problem is price (100 euros) but everything in Guadeloupe is expensive.

We had a fabulous time at this resort and it was hard to leave. The place is in a great location near St. Francoise and even closer to St.-Anne, many markets, shops, cafes and restaurants near by. The beach was beautiful with a wonderful lagoon to swim in and great wait staff and food down at the beach. It was so wonderful that I can not wait to go back!

Security guard at gate extremely rude

Reviewed By Alison S

We drove into club med at Saint Anne's guadeloupe by accident as we followed Google maps which was to take us to another hotel but took us into club med instead. After realising our mistake we turned around and drove out but the security guard had closed the gate and refused to open it. He was extremely rude and refused to interact with us when we tried to show him Google maps mistake and to ask him how to get to the hotel we were supposed to be staying at. This happened this evening 4th of June 2022. This guy was so so rude we felt compelled to write this review.

Fantastic experience

Reviewed By lunesdalem

We stayed in the Superior Suite for our stay as we were three and the room was infallible, except for some slightly dated wallpaper (not an issue). The breakfast was potentially one of the best hotel breakfasts I’ve ever had. Fusing French and Carribean tastes, it had pastries (Pain au Chocolat, Croissant) with incredible quality. In the fruits section, the tropical climate presented us with fresh bananas, pineapple, passion fruit and more delights. Many reviews complain about the restaurant, which does not appear to be worth it. But do not base your decision on this, there are many brilliant places within 5 minutes walking distance. Staff and the rest of the soft product was very good and waiting times (for things like us messing up the safe) we’re fantastic. Overall, a highly recommended hotel.

If you like to know more about GUADALUPE make sure you rent car. Tip: we did it through Hertz because their pick-up location is just across the street less than one minute from the hotel. If you want to save money do it online because sometimes price is cheaper. Next to the Hertz office is small supermarket and souvenirs shop open seven days a week. We would also recommend to buy a boat trip through concierge of the hotel, it is well organized for small group of people and truly beautiful. Concierge is truly exceptional with deep knowledge of the Guadalupe, very useful tips and many advices which saved us lot of time and also money. Location of the Hotel is perfect Beach is beautiful, breakfast is simply extraordinary and hotel is perfectly managed. We do not speak French but we didn't meet with any problems or misunderstanding. All employees of the hotel are wonderful, smiley and very dedicated people.

Large Property

A large, sprawling property with many steps and steep grade walking paths. No bellman to help with luggage up all the stairs. The sleeping room needed updating, bed was rock hard. The outdoor kitchenette was unique and set up for 3 people, but had an ant problem. The pool area was very nice with a pool bar/restuarant with sandwhiches, pizzas, soft drinks, beer and wine. The real downfall for us, we don't speak French, and they speak very little English. Google Translator was our saviour. The island is beautiful.

excellent location, terrible internet connection

Reviewed By 666sergep

We stay at Le Fleur d'Epée on a regular basis because it is a great location, on the beach and well connected (quite central on the island). The rest is ok, no more, no less, nothing outstanding but acceptable by local standards. Especially since they revised their rates downwards a bit. If you expect or need an average internet connection: forget it, it is terrible! You cannot get connected unless you go down to the hall, and it is very unstable. Clearly no up to 21st Century standards.

Breakfast is continental with added sausages & bacon & powdered eggs, when the Barman & the two young employees we’re working service was Spock & span now that they’ve left ans the older lady is working service has gone downhill food replaced only when you ask. Great little private beach with access to the sea and water-sports, the bar was closed because of Covid but the same restaurant was open at night (didn’t quite understand that one) unfortunately while we were at the hotel younger clientele were smoking cannabis everywhere and were never asked to stop running up and down the corridor at 2am, unfortunately it wasn’t that relaxing. One morning we couldn’t change our beach towels they had none left or the external company hadn’t delivered fresh ones. Nice swimming pool Difficult to find parking barrier was left open and outside clients took our parking space. Nice reception team always happy to help Badly organized housecleaning always cleaning our room when we wanted to use it even in the afternoon. Overall good 3-star hotel but badly managed, hotel beginning to fall apart badly maintained by the site director or the group.

Bwa (bois) chic? Corrugated iron chic?

Reviewed By paulherbert49

From our room "côté golf" we looked at the corrugated iron roof of the lobby, two rows of parked cars, the Avenue de l'Europe, another row of parked cars and - indeed - the golf resort. The côté piscine - swimming pool - is better, corrugated iron, but no cars. Our room was about 15 square meters plus 5 square meters balcony. It was kept very clean by the housekeeping ladies. They were very friendly, same as the two barmen. The breakfast is average, mini croissants and pains au chocolat a bit stale. The place is very noisy, one night we were entertained by some singing drunks at 1 in the morning, a false fire alarm at 3 and some motor bikers at 5:30 hours. In the mornings there is a stand of KREYOL HORIZON where you can book trips. We found out that you can book these trips directly with the skippers at the marine - and cheaper. In our case, the two young people who were running the stand tried very hard, but in vain - they could not even fill in the booking form properly.
