Reviewed By Type_riderClean and well maintained on the inside, the hotel itself is feeling dated. But how can you care about that when you have such how a magnificent view out the window. We threw open the curtains and just stayed warm in the winter, just staring at the view. The Onsen was also a lovely way to spend some time in winter.

Reviewed By YolandacalistaI went to Konansou appox. December 2018 for my Honeymoon trip. I can confidently say that staying in Konansou was definitely the highlight of my honeymoon trip. I got a japanese tatami room, facing the lovely Kawaguchiko, and ot was so comfortable. The service was excellent too, the service you would expect from Japanese Hospitality. The kaiseki dinner was amazing. They have a rooftop where they have a foot onsen, with a clear view of Mount Fuji. We got lucky that we could see the mountain clearly. The onsen was superb too, the perfect way to end the night. It was a really awesome experience. I would stay again for sure at Konansou.

never got to stay- they took my money anyway
Reviewed By 508liannecMy family and I had two rooms booked for the first weekend of July 2022. I made the booking through another website, Agoda.com, so this review only reflects on them and the hotel. I made this reservation in February under the assumption travel to Japan would be allowed. I asked for a refund when it became clear it wouldn't be, and I also contacted the hotel as recommended by Agoda. The hotel was completely unwilling to listen to my concerns and told me they would only talk to the website. Agoda was unsuccessful in getting a refund after trying several times. If you want to encourage tourism, it's probably not a good idea to steal potential travelers' money. I even asked if I could postpone, put the rooms on consignment, try to resell them myself, etc, to no avail. Pretty heartless treatment given the circumstance. I can't imagine I would stay at a hotel that treats its customers this way now.

One of the best hotels I’ve stayed in!
Reviewed By meeshukI stayed here with family specially with the intention of seeing mt. fuji- we drove by car from Tokyo to here and there’s a rather steep path up to the hotel... the check in experience was incredible, we had a host who sat with us and went through everything there was to offer at hotel including the incredible 5 course meal that was included in our stay, this menu differed slightly on each day of our trip so we didn’t get the same thing every night either - the restaurant is superb. The rooms are super clean, spacious and have the most incredible view!! (See the pictures) - our room included a tub with views out to Mount Fuji - I’ll be honest I got in there every morning because of the view. We had nothing but a positive experience at the hotel, the staff all spoke amazing English and could not have done more to help us! there’s a little shop where you can purchase souvenirs too. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a stay around this area, and if I come back I wouldn’t hesitate to book again. Thank you, you made my first visit to Mount Fuji unforgettable.

Onsen not great, but location and view of Fuji amazing
Reviewed By johnramesjrWe were looking for a reasonably priced hotel near Mt Fuji and this fit the bill quite nicely. The rooms were spacious, the food was really good (we did dinner and breakfast) and the location is perfect for viewing and touring all of the spots to see and photograph Mt Fuji.

Reviewed By simon_and_emma69Easy to get to - just across from the train station. This was great for us since we arrived late with heavy baggage to haul. We agree with many of the other reviews, the hotel itself a little on the old side and looking a bit 'tired' but the room was clean and tidy with enough space for a night or two. One light didn't work but the gentleman at reception came straight up and showed us the trick of on-off-on to get the fluorescent bulb to fire up. If you're looking for something that's budget and well located then this is worth a try.

A very tired hotel with lovely staff in a great location
Reviewed By MrsSmith1234We (husband, me and two teenage sons) stayed two nights. I will start with the positives. The resort is in a great location for touring around the Mount Fuji area, in woods which makes it pleasantly secluded and peaceful. The staff were very polite as you would expect, extremely helpful too. Once we were given a mobile WiFi kit the WiFi in our suite was faster than we had at home. Our suite was large, had two bedrooms with their own bathrooms. There was an indoor balcony area to sit in and look across the woods (ignoring some rather ugly buildings to do so). The breakfast buffet was extensive and the restaurant you ate it in had a fantastic view of Mount Fuji. It was a short drive to some very good restaurants off site. The swimming pool area looked lovely, but it was not open yet. There was a good games room with table tennis tables in the basement. The negatives. As other reviewers have written, the hotel has seen better days. There may be newer parts to the resort but the building we stayed in, just across from the main hotel with the reception, was desperately in need of some care and attention. It was not dirty, but stained and worn. The beds were extremely uncomfortable. The towels were paper thin. The whole resort site feels neglected with rather tired buildings in rather haphazard locations. There were a lot of coach tour customers who will have had no choice but to dine in the hotel restaurant and the buffet on offer looked pretty dire (a mix of Japanese and Mediterranean fare, baked pasta for example), after looking round it we left and as we had a car we went off site both nights. It was the rather shocking price of ¥5000 per person. I pondered 3 stars because of the staff and location. I ended up at 2 because an uncomfortable bed in a hotel is just not good enough. If I could have said 2.5 I would have. I have included some photos which highlight the issues I have identified. The lampshade on a lamp in our rooms seemed to me to sum up the problems quite well: stained and rather bartered but functional.

Reviewed By cazfruityWe had 3 nights here and wish we had stayed 1 because everything shuts down by 5pm. We had breakfast booked but I didn't like it so let my husband eat it. Hotel was clean and tidy and staff were nice. Shuttle bus service is great and very reliable. Right on the bus line too which is good. There were alot of loud students in the hotel and we complained and luckily it stopped. Theres some lovely shops and of course the cable car up to see the view of Mt fuji.

Reviewed By shota1815富士山と河口湖の絶景スポットで有名な大石公園から徒歩1分と近いため、早朝6:30に起きても、逆さ富士を眺めることができました。初めは駅から遠いと感じましたが、レッドラインのバス停やハナテラスからも近いため、ゆっくりするには最高のロケーションだと思います！ また、大スクリーンでサッカーの試合を見れて感動しました。 スタッフもフレンドリーで、おすすめの観光スポットなどを教えて頂きました。色々なイベントも開催してるそうなので、機会があればまた泊まりに来たいです。

Only stayed 1 night, but what a great night it was - superlative hotel

We was lucky enjough to arrive when the clouds were clearing and we ere treated to a 2 hour uninterrupted and sunny view of Mount Fuji. The view from our balcony was delightful and the onsen was quiet, clean and very relaxing. The food was superb throughout, the traditional Japanese dinner was one of the best meals we enjoyed and the westernised breakfast was delightful (and great for those that find some of the Japanese breakfast options a little challenging so early in the morning). We loved the lounge area, the fun and colourful object d'art, paintings and photographs displayed with the vast array of art and design books on offer along with the complimentary coffee. This place definately warrants a 2 night stay, not just for the hotel, but to sample the many things this area has available in general. Only complaint was the roof top bar service was a little on the cool (chilly) side, however the rest of the staff were warm and welcoming and professional. Would love to come back here! Don't hesitate booking....there are good reasons for the excellent reviews - this place is an absolute joy to stay in!
