Excellent hotel in Dawson City

I've been visiting Dawson City since 1984 and the Aurora is definitely one of the best hotels on the scene. Tracy and Steve are very welcoming and accommodating - their hotel has the feel of a European inn. Excellent restaurant (try the pasta with elk and bison sausage). Rooms are simple, spacious and comfortable. Highly recommended.

Most hotels in Dawson City will run you $130 and up. They usually have a musuc festival during the summer. I use to work in the housekeeping dept .. under paid abd the only ones who tipped were the Asians. Its cheaper to buy booze at the local store than to go to the bars.

I will definitely stay here again, worth every $$. The bed is also AMAZING. We had a great sleep on it . One thing I would suggest is having airport transport provided by the property.

Surprisingly lower quality of stay than the other hotels

Reviewed By thankunextbeach

We booked a room fit for 3 with a private bathroom. Upon entry, the room is cramped. No space to move around, elbows always hit something. I love the keycode entry instead of cards. Good location downtown. Desk fans are available for ventilation. But the pros end there. Cleaning is very sparse. There is a dust buildup everywhere as soon as we went in. We had to clean the room ourselves. Dust was ccumulating on the blinds. Staff did not change towels even though they were on the floor. We had to phone in the manager for them. Microwave is not available in the room considering how cramped the room is. Had to phone in the manager to open the lobby for it. So food heating is not readily accessible. I would pick a different hotel next time. This is not really family-friendly, this is somewhat oriented to younger clientele like a hostel.

Very comfortable modern room

Fairly central location in Dawson city - walking distance to lots of shops and restaurants and very close to the museum. The bedroom was modern, clean and comfortable - and there was good wifi. We had one of the bedrooms with a private bathroom and thought the cost was good value. As well as cereals, fruit juice, etc we were given individual plates of cold meats, cheese and boiled eggs, etc - not a massive choice but there was more than enough. Very friendly hostess.

A modern well appointed place to stay.

What an amazing place to stay for two nights!! This modern refurbished lodge accommodation is extremely comfortable and well appointed. You get emailed a keypad entry code to the front/back door and then your individual room. The queen size bed was one of the most comfortable I’ve ever slept in and the lines were soft and clean. Modern rainfall shower and bath, great satellite TV, a mini fridge, Keurig machine and coffee pods (and tea bags) and snacks left to enjoy! The room is cozy but very comfortable and quiet. It’s located in the heart of Dawson City which was perfect. If you’re travelling on motorbikes as we were, this is a great place to stay.

Although they were officiallly not open, they allowed me to stay for 2 nights. The park was muddy and a few potholes but this was due to the rapid melting of the snow and not a problem. Do not park next to anyone who is a long term resident. I did and they were having a party after midnight and i had to move to another spot. I informed the reception by phone the next morning about the problem and did not get a phone call back
