Reviewed By ATWtravlerVery clean and super friendly! The hotel is dated but everything was in very good shape, the bathroom has been remodeled. Large room, very comfortable bed. We had dinner in the restaurant and both meals were very good.

A lovely experience
Reviewed By Skib99We were on a road trip through Dalarna and stayed at several Herrgården along the way. Långshyttan Brukshotell was our favourite hotel experience. We were greeted warmly upon arrival by the owner Bengt, we felt so welcome. We had booked the suite in the main mansion with a nice balcony overlooking the park. We had a double jacuzzi and enjoyed that right away. Dinner was superb, Bengt is an excellent cook. He kindly accomodated our request to change the starter on the fixed menu (we had given him a day's notice on that). The decorations in the hotel are very tasteful, they have aimed for a modern interpretation of manorhouse charm as opposed to just the usual antiques one finds in most Herrgård hotels. Breakfast was very good. We found the park and its history which is intertwined with the town and region's history very interesting. And then Bengt was lots of fun to chat with, such a good host. It’s ok; nothing special
Reviewed By sergioavalosWe visited Mora Hotel during the Christmas celebration and the aspects we enjoyed the most were the service (they were super kind) and the “julbord” was also super tasty. On the other hand, I would like to see this hotel improving on the timing; the dinner of three courses was surprisingly slow, especially if one takes into consideration this was a fixed menu. I got the impression the waiting time was introduced for the guests to enjoy their drinks, but the problem is that we were not consuming alcohol. The spa was also ok; I would have liked to have warm water in the pool, especially during winter, but that might be my personal preference. Finally, there were some Christmas activities arranged by the hotel, but there wasn’t any staff around during these events; a conference room was arranged with some utensils (like paper and crayons) and it was up to the guests to figured out what to do with them. I believe this was the reason why the attendance was low. My recommendation is to come with family and friends; the facilities are nice and fresh, and the staff is super helpful and friendly. It can become very cozy if you stay with your loved ones.

Lustigsgården is a family owned B&B in Swedish traditional red wooden buildings, just 15 minutes walk from Rättvik town centre. It is located in the heart of Dalarna in a quiet area and has a wonderful view over Lake Siljan. We offer 14 modern rooms, all personal and individual decorated with a mix of recycled and modern furnitures and with local details from Dalarna. Here you have free WiFi and a garden with patio and BBQ area. Every day we serve a breakfast buffet with local and ecological options. For lunch and dinner staff can offer tips on nice local restaurants. There are a lot of options close by. There is a lot of things to see and do in the area. Bicycle rentals are possible at Lustigsgården and cross-country skiing, hiking and bike trails are found just around the corner. A sandy beach by lake Siljan with a playground is within 20 minutes walk from the property and Rättvik Golf Club is 5 minutes drive away. Hope to see you here soon! Kind regards Ulrica and Niclas
Great service & location
Reviewed By unixoidalWe e stayed for a week with small child. The personnel provided as with a separate small bed for kid. Because of covid-19 the breakfast was prepared and served individually for each family or couple. There is a possibility for guests to prepare coffee or tea, use microwave, dishes and dining hall for lunch or dinner. That was a pleasure to stay there because personnel was friendly and helpful. The parking is conveniently arranged on either side of the main building. The hotel is locatied on the hill which is very good in terms of beautiful views (from some rooms) and reaching the downtown Rättvik, restaurants as well as highway 70. The wifi was free, had good speed and stable connection. One down side was that bathroom was lacking an electrical socket and proper ventilation. Perhaps, the owners shall invest a little to fix it.

Three very comfortable nights
Reviewed By Mingalaba11The hotel receptionist was friendly and helpful when I telephoned to make our booking. We arrived after a long drive to be welcomed with a big smile from the receptionist who told us he was originally from Iran. Clean and attractive bedroom decorated with Dala horses. Loved the book of colour photos of Mora on the desk. We ate in the hotel restaurant one evening - good value and tasty. serving ourselves from the buffet. I must add that the breakfast buffet is superb with a wide selection of cold plates and some of the tastiest bread I’ve ever eaten in Sweden. The hotel has free parking. We had a plug-in hybrid but most of the electric sockets in the car park were defective. However this is typical across Sweden and not just this hotel. We enjoyed our stay and would be happy to return.

Reviewed By Cecilia SWe stayed her for one night while visiting Romme Alpin (also a great place;-)) It was our first stay, previously we have stayed at Scandic. The prices of Gylle hotel were very competitive and we will stay here next time. Rooms are like typical scandic rooms. The lobby restaurant is very cozy and the breakfast was great. Also appreciated the personal touches, like having headache pills at the breakfast buffe. Caring. Very nice staff. We will stay here again next time we go to Romme Alpin. Not only for the price, but for the overall experience. If you want to go out in Borlänge in the evening, you will however need to take a car. A bit of walking distance

A property that needs to upgrade it's furniture!!

The jacuzzi was the best part. The room did not have a kettel to heat water ...I would have really appreciated it especially with the cold weather. The room cleaning did not replace used glasses. So a lot left to be desired!!

Perfect romantic ski week
Reviewed By Stephen DWe visited over the New Year period for a well earned break and some skiing. The Hotel was easy to book via the internet and a couple of phone calls to confirm a table for the New Years eve dinner. Our room was adequately sized with a lovely on suite and very clean with excellent Wi-Fi and a TV with English speaking programs. The double room was two big singles together but so comfortable and very quiet. Unfortunately there are no tea and coffee facilities in the room however the reception were happy to provide a flask of hot water and cups on request. The breakfast is buffet style and has everything you could want from hot and cold food yoghurt, cereal, breads, fruit, tea , coffee, fruit juice the list is endless. All of the staff speak fantastic English and are really polite and helpful, we would definitely come back again. The main ski slopes are a two minute drive away with lots of free parking available, the hotel has easy access to a ski/boot room from the car park round the back so you don't have to keep everything in your room. The hotel has an amazing restaurant with staff happy to explain the non English printed menu and a nice friendly bar area for after dinner or pre dinner drinks. If you did not want to eat in the hotel every night there is a good choice of local restaurants no more than a five minute walk away, I would recommend booking the day before as they all get busy.
