Kudrat is nestled in village Bandal adjoining a beautiful forest, full of Deodar (Cedar) trees and wildlife. The property is located at an altitude of 6200 feet and faces the snow capped Tirth peaks (4200 m) in Great Himalayan National Park (UNESCO Heritage Site) and provides distant views of the famous Tirthan river.

Reviewed By AnukyadavKudrat is a beautiful homestay, run by amazing hosts - Sudhir & Bhavna. We stayed at Kudrat in April 2022 and had the most wonderful time there. While the last leg of the journey to Kudrat is a little nerve wracking (really narrow winding roads where you’ll be giving way of trucks and buses!), the destination is definitely worth it. The stay is homely, has great views, scrumptious home cooked food and tastefully done rooms. We got an opportunity to stay in both the stone house and wood house. While all the rooms are beautifully designed, we especially loved the room we stayed at in the wood house. Sudhir & Bhavana are open, warm, extremely helpful and wonderful hosts. They help you with your itineraries, help make reservations for trips in the area, and above all they look after the small details to make your stay and experience comfortable, such as bringing you umbrellas if it’s raining when you reach. If you do not have much planned for the day, you can easily spend the day eating, playing one of the many board games they have, reading or observing the shenanigans of their dogs Ollie and Bhaaloo. Just some things to note about the place and area: the homestay has a few slightly steep stairs. So, if you are not very comfortable with stairs or are travelling with aging parents, this may be something to keep in mind, or atleast be mentally prepared for?. The area itself has mostly trekking/hiking related activities only. If you are not really interested in anything physically strenuous, then you may want to just have ‘me time’ at the property or take easy walks around the property. Tirthan river is a few kilometers away from the property and you will need a car/taxi to get there. Vodafone/Idea does not work there at all. Wi-fi is available only in the common area. Overall, this place is absolutely worth it if you are looking for a quiet peaceful holiday. Thanks team Kudrat for taking such good care of us! ?

Varun and his family treats guests like their own extended family. Firstly, the place has nature and own river front to enjoy. Rooms are primarily wooden and large. Isolated from the bustle of crowds and traffic. Food spread amazing and yummy. The way guests are treated, it leaves you wanting to come back and not explore any other place. Have been there twice in last 2 years. Wanting to go back again at the first opportunity.

Newly-sawn wood and freshly-hewn stone enclose six cosy rooms dressed in cheery furnishing to match the efflorescent hues outside. Each room comes with an attached bathroom and an open-to-sky sit-out at the end of a tiny garden. Views for free.

Reviewed By 943anuragcThis retreat is far away from the other tirthan retreats set in a beautiful and serene area of the river. Ideal for people who want to be away from the noise and overcrowded area of the valley. The host is very accommodating and the BBQ in the evening is sumptuous. The rainbow trout is excellent. You have to park the car on the road near the property and walk a steep 200 meters walk down to the property.

Reviewed By rabakkkIf only words could describe how I feel about this homestay. Bahu is nested within the great Himalayan national park and is clearly untouched by modern development. One of the most beautiful and serene places to go visit with friends , family or even by yourself. I have stayed with Prakash bhai and his family now over 3 times and can only say each and every visit has just been outstanding. The hospitality and warmth the Thakur family offers makes me simply feel at home. I am happy to add that I consider them family and cannot imagine a visit to Himachal without visiting them. I highly recommend anyone looking to visit as you will be showered with spectacular breathtaking views, stunning accommodations & the most beautiful and warm hosts one can want ????

River rooms: Nice furnished rooms with hot water facility but there were lot of spiders in room due to river and trees nearby Orchard room : Furnished rooms but away from main property ,not recommended for people who can't live in secluded property. Restaurant: Chef is friendly,breakfast was good but dinner was ok ok specially gravy items. Service: Average, Om prakash is manager who sometimes go blunt for some requests otherwise he is good in nature and supportive. Note: Property owner is cooperative and available on call. For best rates Book directly with them not online Make note they charge 12 percent GST on everything including restaurant bill and even on bonfire , as they don't have seperate GST number which they should have legally. Overall nice stay, but place is too beautiful and Peaceful. Another note: Try nearby.. the lost cafe for evening snacks or dinner?

Reviewed By MukeshT193Rooms are good, pretty spacious, please take the one with Valley view. Open space outside and on each floor to sit relax and work. Property close to Tirthan river..few mtr. Food is the highlight ., lip smacking mutton, chicken curry, everything. They have fish farm...grill trout to die for. Everything is amazing, they arranged guide for us and taxi...no problems anywhere. keep expectations in check..as this boutique guest house, mostly solar powered, water is normal not hot...they will give you water buckets if you want really hot water to take bath. All round great experience...

Situated at a distance of 16 km from Banjar in Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh .Bahu is a little quaint village and beautiful view of snow capped mountains. The houses are all made in traditional Kathkuni style of architecture. This blessedly peaceful hamlet is surrounded by lush green cedar forest.It is just one hours drive from the Great Himalayan National Park .

Reviewed By sonalib72Best panacea for mind and soul….a peaceful holiday in “Ishan Log Huts – A Boutique Home Stay” located at an untouched wonderland called Bahu. You will return completely rejuvenated from the stresses of city life. An enterprising young man Prakash Thakur, his beautiful wife Rimple and their young shy lad Ishan have created this aesthetically designed space up in the mountains, 10 kms away from Jibhi and a at a greater height, where one can see the snow capped Tirthan Himalayan Range, Jalori Pass, Chehni Kothi, Sojha Village right from the balcony of the log huts. Visiting this heavenly place in April 2021 after a year of pandemic and lockdown was just the dose of medicine our weary souls required. The beauty of the cedar forests and majestic Himalayan views from the sit outs were very enticing and so were the interiors of the log huts - architecture is conceptualized by the owner in traditional Kathkuni style and interiors are aesthetically designed with many art pieces by the owner’s spouse. The washrooms have efficient modern bathroom fittings and best quality of bed and bath linens are provided in the rooms. They manage the home stay entirely on their own with great teamwork and understanding by dividing kitchen chores, housekeeping and room service among themselves effortlessly. The food served in their impeccable white crockery is delicious, warm and very homely! Compliments to the chef for the subtle tasting Siddu, a Himachali specialty dish made with walnut stuffing, we enjoyed more than once during our 5 nights stay at Ishan. Do note it’s a home stay so don’t expect a lengthy ala carte menu…but your requests are always complied to with a smile, which in our case was mutton for the hubby (procured from Banjar 18 kms away) and yummy paneer kadai for vegetarian me. We did not miss the television even once during our stay with interesting hikes like Balu Nag Temple 3 kms from the property in the midst of a cedar forest, Bahu Lake and Bahu Village (Prakash’s native village) were just a few minutes away. There are many more treks nearby like the ones to Serolsar Lake, Raghupur Fort and Chehni Kothi. We had a wonderful break at Ishan Log Hut and just did not have the heart to leave this piece of heaven. We thank Prakash Thakur family for their kindness and generosity and sharing their beautiful home with us!!
