Archaeological Museum Split

The oldest museum in Croatia includes archaeological artifacts from the prehistoric, Greek, Roman, early Christian and Medieval ages.

The Archaeological Museum in Split is a treasure. The exhibits range from Pre-Greek to Greek, Roman, Early Christian and Late Antiquity. It is well laid out and has exceptionally good labeling and information. A relatively short walk from Diocletian’s Palace, the amount of material on display in the museum building and in the cloister beyond is amazing.

Ethnographic Museum Split

While walking through Split we discovered this gem of a museum!! It is beautiful inside and nicely air conditioned! There are many floors and a lot to see! Don’t miss any nook or cranny. Beautiful displays of traditional Croatian apparel, jewelry, some weaponry, tools, furniture, children’s toys, art and much more! Don’t miss the opportunity to see this museum! One of my highlights while in the old town.
