My husband I and were treated to an unhurried, delightful tour of the vines by the owner, followed by a generous tasting of 7 different wines accompanied by delicious homemade snacks, authentically provencale. Nothing was too much trouble for Henri who shared his love of the area, the vines, wine production and the history of his beautiful estate. There was a charge of 15 euros for this 2 hour experience which was well worth it. I would thoroughly recommend the experience.

Domaine de Mourchon

Set in a secluded valley between the picturesque village of Séguret and Mont Ventoux, Domaine de Mourchon was created by the McKinlay family in 1998. The vineyard had some twenty hectares of mature vines but no facility to make wine so, using modern technology and high standards, a winery was constructed and completed in 2000. The terraced hillside vineyard, at an average altitude of 350m, is based predominately clay and grey limestone which, combined with a microclimate, gives the location a terroir of unique quality. Careful husbandry using natural and organic techniques – "agriculture raisonnée" as it is known in France – in conjunction with combined traditional and advanced methods of vinification results in a well structured wine with pronounced fruit aromas and strong colours.

A relatively easy trekking experience amidst beautiful ochre colors. The vistas are what postcards are made of. Note that you have to be in adequate physical shape to visit the site. It's not a demanding exercise, but there are several inclines that can - literally - take your breath away. Also, good shoes are in order.
