My partner worked with Lihinya Gems to design a beautiful pair of 1.84 ct sapphire and 18k white gold studs for my birthday! They are absolutely stunning... the workmanship fantastic. From what my partner tells me, the team at Lihinya were excellent to deal with from Aus in designing the earrings and getting them shipped to Aus! I’d highly recommend to others either visiting or looking to buy online. Thanks Lihinya Gems!

Genuine Batik is an unique art gallery with a great variety of batiks created by Mr.J.Hirantha Wimalarathne. I'm truely impressed by his talent and workshop. Mr. Hirantha is full of passion and he is eager to explain the technique he is using and he can show you around his workshop if you are even more interested in numerous steps required to create a batik. You can buy not only batiks different in size and colours but also tableclothes, shirts, bags and dresses. It's a great gallery situated in a beautiful garden.

If you are looking for a Sri Lankan treasure to bring home, this is the place! The artist Janaka is a very nice man. We were lucky enough to meet him when we visited his gallery. He told us all about the process of how he creates the amazing historical panels. He uses only reclaimed wood that he finds and all of his paints use natural pigments. Janaka creates a lot of different types of art, but we are especially drawn to the replicas of Sri Lankan temple paintings. We first visited his gallery in 2013 and we used our recent trip to add to our collection. Can't wait to see what he has next time!

We dry those yarn hanks on natural air , which you can see during the factory tour. Then we do the yarn preparation in order to fix the wood manual hand loom machine. Then we put that set of yarn layer in to the hand loom machine and we weave the 100% cotton custom made fabric which we can’t find anywhere in the world.

Chandana, the owner, is an extremely hard worker that took over the business from his parents. Definitely a place you should visit when in Galle. It's a great place to see how the beautiful fabrics are made and buy at extremely low prices compared to the shops in Galle Fort.

I purchased a bespoke sapphire and diamond ring from Safri while in Galle in early 2019 (after extensive research about jewellers in the area). At the time I was also eyeing off a set of sapphire earrings. My husband recently surprised me with sapphire and diamond earrings to match my ring for my 30th birthday. This time we worked with Safri from Australia, mainly via WhatsApp to design the earrings. Despite not being to see Safri in person to talk through the design, the WhatsApp communication worked perfectly and he nailed the brief, producing a beautiful set of diamond and sapphire earrings that matched my very specific design! The sapphires came with an authenticity certificate and Safri sent me pictures of the sapphires, certificate and finished design to approve before the earrings were sent to me. I was nervous about the postage to Australia having not done anything like this before, but as Safri promised the earrings arrived in one piece in under 2 weeks which was amazing considering Covid restrictions. Australia Post recognised the Sri Lankan tracking number and I was able to track the parcel once it arrived in Australia. Thanks so much Safri for the beautiful jewellery - I highly recommend Cara Jewellers whether your can visit them in person or purchase jewellery from another country :) I have had friends purchase from Safri and provide the same feedback.

We didn't know about Embark until we passed its eye at hing exterior, very bright and cheery. We really enjoyed looking at all the canine related gifts and products and happily bought a couple of things knowing our purchases would assist the plight of street dogs in the country, a worthy enterprise.

I’m reviewing Ibrahim Jewelers rightly as 5-star even though every time I come here I end up parting with money! My wife and I have been lucky enough to be regulars in Sri Lanka over the last 15 years, and every time we’re in Galle we always stop by. The service is unrushed and thorough, and as the years have gone on the welcome is warm and familiar. Numerous times we have visited with only a day or two until leaving Sri Lanka but they have managed to resize new rings for my wife whilst happily polishing up her old purchases. We do not take any other jewelers into consideration as the quality and workmanship is superior to other establishments. We will certainly be back yet again.

Fantastic place!!! Friendly staff and had a great collection of jewellery and gems too. Prices were quite reasonable and we had the freedom of choosing what we love. We were not forced or pressurised with the stuff. They helped us choose jewellery of our price range. The most important highlight was that they certified each item we bought from them. Visited their store somewhere in 2019. I got myself a customized ring made at their factory and since we were flying the day after, they were ready to deliver my ring. Although the ring was customized, it turned out to be fabulous!!! Would definitely get in touch with Lanka Gems And Jewellery for any of my future jewellery needs.
