The carpet shop, Coin Berbère, owned by the Bouzidi-Idrissi family, has existed for about 60 years and was one of the first carpet stores in Fez, The store owes its reputation to the work of a wise father has his sons
We had a fantastic experience buying our first Moroccan carpet at Coin Berber. We were made to feel comfortable from the beginning - it was clear that there was no pressure to buy, and Abdul genuinely wanted us to find the right carpet for us. Very knowledgable and passionate. Would highly recommend Coin Berber for anyone wanting high quality carpet at a reasonable price, as well as an authentic, enjoyable buying experience.

We had no intention of buying anything as we already had bought a rug in the desert, but upon seeing the rugs they had we ended up buying 2 pieces. The guys that work here are great, we actually spent 1.5 hours hanging out with them, talking and negotiating prices. They weren't pushy but of course they entice you to buy one of their great pieces and it will be hard to refuse when you see the rugs they pull out. We purchased a blanket that was made by their grandfather right in the store. They threw in a small rug that we were eyeing as well and gave us a deal that we couldn't refuse. Great experience and highly recommend you take a look here.

We really had an outstanding experience here! I bought the white rugs with the black criss cross pattern via communication with Driss, the store owner, on Whats App. My friends returned from Marrakech with beautiful rugs that I had to have (and I sadly missed out on when I was there). Driss sent me pictures of the rugs he had, along with the dimensions, and negotiated the prices with me all via Whats App. We paid via Western Union transfer. I received a receipt, tracking number, and three beautiful, plush carpets in the mail less than a week later (we had them shipped to Germany). Bottom line, ordering from abroad and having rugs shipped was a great option for us. We had a fantastic experience doing this and can only recommend it.

This shop was a lovely find! The calm atmosphere and no haggling was a very welcomed change from the souks outside in the medina! We got some great, unique items for ourselves and some cool pieces for family back home. Definitely stop by this shop if you’re looking for quality unique items!

A very cosy shop at the heart of Marrakesh medina, with unique pieces of berber and tuareg jewelry. The owner is a very kind guy.

My 14 year old had her henna design done. The ladies were so sweet and friendly. We felt welcomed, were served delicious tea and water. There were two other women there, one was having a very intricate design done on hands and feet, quite incredible. We all joked and laughed, it was fun and easy. Highly recommended!

Best place for shoping at local nomads of the desert
We spent three days in the desert and this shop was recommended by our desert guide after we asked him about the best places for carpets. He drove us from Fez to Merzouga and finally to Marrakech across 5 days. He knew we wanted to stop at a nice rug shop - even though we had already purchased a nice Beni Ourain in Fez - and he insisted this was the best shop with authentic Berber products. They have a massive variety of Moroccan items - rugs, lanterns, poufs, inlaid woodwork, jewelry, etc. Hamid and Omar were very nice to deal with and all of the bartering was good natured and low pressure. We had bought so many things while in Fez that we really had no intention of buying anything, but they had very nice carpets and sterling silver jewelry. I would definitely recommend you at least stop and check out all of the goods through the 6-7 rooms in the shop. We will definitrly be stopping here again the next time we are in Morocco.

Skip the Médina and head straight here. No bargaining but honest and affordable prices. Purchased the vast majority of our goods and gifts here. Adil ships or delivers to your hotel if you can’t carry it. Worth the walk from the Médina as it’s a tour of a new neighborhood away from tourists and their inflated prices!
