10 Fun Activities & Games in Key West That You Shouldn't Miss

June 1, 2021 Osvaldo Hartline

Does time ever pass in the Florida Keys? Everyone and everything in Key West seems to go at its own pace, right down to the ice melting slooooowly in your margarita glass. Of course, it’s not all limes and leisure – Key West is known as the “Winter White House” because of its appeal to visiting U.S. presidents, and the island has been home to literary greats like Ernest Hemingway and Tennessee Williams. The diving here is phenomenal, as is the kid-friendly Florida Keys Eco-Discovery Center.

My daugther and me, from Germany and totally inexperienced with shooting with pistols , have spent a good hour at the club to get an idea about shooting with pistols and different calibers. Thanks to the outstanding instructions we have received, it turned to be an exciting experience, providing us with practises and skills that we had no opportunity beforehand to experience.

However, we stumbled upon this escape room right next to the winn dixie. I’ve never done one myself but my friends and have. The owner and staff make you feel so welcome and at home. It’s an amazing experience with friends!! If you’re tired of water sports and bar hopping definently give a try! We even stayed for some karaoke after the game! We went to the comedy show on Friday night and it was fabulous! We were impressed that they had so many different comedians take the stage in one night. There is a two drink minimum but they were nice drinks & we ordered more than 2! With $20 tickets we considered it a bargain. Very relaxed atmosphere, we really enjoyed the night! I'd recommend it!

Tropic Cinema

Tropic Cinema is South Florida's only nonprofit multiplex cinema screening 1st-run indie, foreign and documentary films and Hollywood blockbusters every day. With 4 theaters, state-of-the art projection services and the best concessions stand anywhere (we serve wine and beer and drizzle our popcorn with 100% melted butter), it's no wonder Florida Monthly magazine named Tropic Cinema "Florida's Best Cinema" for four consecutive years.

Reviewed By JellyToast - Avon Lake, United States

We discovered Tropic Cinema when the last time we were in Key West (a little over 10 years ago.) We were excited to visit this theater again - we had a great time watching "Knives Out" there. The cinema is manned by volunteers (helpful, friendly, and enthusiastic.) It's not a megaplex and that's a big part of its charm. Every seat in the theater we were in had a small tag listing the person who donated the seat (same thing was true for the restroom.) You can feel the love in this building. They also serve popcorn with butter and a whole array of different toppings - quite the treat. Stopping here is a great way to beat the heat, get away from the crowds on Duval, and enjoy a good movie in a smaller setting. If you like movies, treat yourself to one here!
