We were greeted by the lovely owner, a french lady who told us more about Laos than our tour guide! There are so many stories behind the textiles from all over Laos.. Do not miss it!

Golden Buddha

There is not a lot to do or see in Pakse town but a must do is the golden Buddha. Great views of Pakse and the Mekong. I drove up but if you are feeling energetic you can flex your muscles and walk up the steps. You also get to cross the Mekong

The island is car-free, which gives it such a peaceful feeling. The villages are beautiful are locals wave at you with large smiles. We were lucky to stay at the beautiful Lodge so we explored the island with their bicycles.

Daoheuang Market

Reviewed By MSander - Tallinn, Estonia

There is not much to do in Pakse and the market gives you an hour or two to be explored. It's really huge , bustling and as local as it can get. You can buy anything from fruit and live ducks to fake gucci'es etc I love the food courts in Asian markets and this one was really exceptional with its wide choice. I chose it over my 4* hotel breakfast both mornings and couldn't have been happier.

Wat Muang Kang Temple

Reviewed By davidbR9592WJ - Louisville, United States

The pagoda is blended with architecturral style and the only holy place to worship and rest a mind when I arrived this pagoda it was a serenity and with the sound of bird and the temple is stretched to the Mekong River in Champasak Lao. Good place to visit when in Champasak because this place will read you the story of temple perhaps in the 19th century.

We stayed at the Champasak Grand Hotel and had a great view of the Lao Nippon Bridge. Can walk along the side of the bridge to go to the Golden Buddha temple on the Mountain. Beautiful views from this temple as well.
