Although Hurricane Harvey destroyed the former Gallery, a smaller location fits the bill for the time being. Fabulous artists exhibit and call this Gallery their home. Can't wait for the new Gallery to be built that will increase the size however the staff are so wonderful and local artist are now showing at Estelle's Gallery in the interim. .

Really nice park with a little bit of everything, sports fields, a big playground, a big dog park, ponds, paved walking trails and unpaved hiking trails. Good for strollers. Well maintained. We will be back.

We saw a ton of whitetail deer close up, an alligator that was about 8 feet long, a yellow striped snake and a blue heron. That was just one-way. it is about a mile each way end to end. Nice clean concrete trail.

Walking trail is large enough to accommodate walkers and bikes. Very peaceful walk. The walking trail was concrete, very level and we saw two deer along the way.

The Big Tree

Some people would think, it's just a tree, big deal...but this tree is so cool. The history, all that it's withstood, the size of it, it's impressive. I wish we could stand next to the tree, but it is surrounded by a wooden fence. It's an awesome sight and the trees around it are pretty impressive too! Live Oaks are some of the most beautiful trees. Definitely recommend visiting!
