Maison Bergeret

Reviewed By antmontaq - Sydney, Australia

This private mansion was once owned by printer, Albert Bergeret and built by architect, Lucien Weißenburger, who built the addition to the School of Nancy art nouveau museum. Unfortunately it's no longer accessible to the public as it's now own by the University of Lorraine of which this building is inside their campus at the Faculty of Medicine complex. I stayed about five minutes walk from the university which is near the Nancy University Hospital (CHRU) and just behind Église Saint Pierre de Nancy (Saint Peter's Church of Nancy). It's still a gorgeous building to look at even from the streets as you can still admire some unique features that is art nouveau like the windows and the portals. I believe it's possible to contact the university directly to enquire about exploring inside or the Tourist Information Office of Nancy for the possibility of visiting the inside. If you're a fan or curious about art nouveau, this is a good start as Nancy is the birthplace of this art movement. Absolutely worth a look.
