Mahabaleshwar Temple

Reviewed By MukulB_13 - Pune, India

This is a very old shiva temple in the kshetre mahableshwar area. A nice place to visit if you are staying for 2-3 days in mahableshwar. The history produced from wiki Mahabaleshwar Temple is built in 1215 AD as per historical records. This temple is built in Hemadpanti style. The temple houses Shiva's bed, damru and trishul which date back to approximately 300 years. It is believed that every morning, the bedsheet is found crumpled indicating Shiva's presence at night within the temple. Ramdasi Math: Beside Mahabaleshwar temple is Ramdasi Math which has a copy of Dasbodh. Samarth Ramdas himself had edited (corrected) this dasbodh copy

Gureghar Nature Trail

Reviewed By EkMusafir - Pune, India

Triveni Point and Gureghar Nature Trail is one of the lesser known attractions of Mahabaleshwar, maybe because it is at a little distance away from the hill station. It is located bang opposite Mapro Garden, which is a major attraction for shopping and dining, on the Panchagani – Mahabaleshwar Road. Most of the tourists visit Mapro Garden and overlook the Gureghar Nature Trail, and hence miss out on one of the most beautiful points of Mahabaleshwar, the Triveni Point, which lies at the end of the 1 km long trail. We entered through a small gate leading to the trail. Vehicles are not allowed inside. We walked at a leisurely pace up the narrow winding stony pathway which was gently sloping upwards. At times the slope would get steeper and there are rocks and stones on the path. There are trees and bushes on both sides of the trail and we were literally walking in a jungle. Some of the trees had a placard with their common and botanical names attached to them, like jambul, hirda, gella and pissa. There were stone benches at regular intervals so we could rest for a while. After walking about 20 minutes we reached the watch tower which is the Triveni Point. We got an excellent 360 degree view of the whole Panchgani Mahabaleshwar plateau from here. It is an easy to do trail by people of all age groups. We started on the trail at around 11 am and were back on the highway at noon. We did not encounter any other tourist on the way. We had only the birds and the bees, trees and forest for company. It is a beautiful place to experience nature at its best. Do remember to wear your trekking shoes and carry your camera when you visit, and not to litter the trail with your garbage.

Laxmi Strawberry Farm

Laxmi Strawberry Farm, the place to be all year round and especially at strawberry season!!! Come and spend the day picking and eating ripe organic strawberries, down in our fields!

Reviewed By Komals2727

We had a great time at Laxmi strawberry farm! The staff was extremely kind and helpful when we arrived. The price seemed quite fair for the quality and amount of berries you can get. There is no comparison between store bought and fresh from the plant berries. The berries we brought home are a huge neighborhood hit too! We will definitely be returning for some more berry picking. The one thing I would like is to have more information on the strawberry types. Great overall experience, thank you!

A place where light plays crucial role in defining the surroundings. Really a must visit in the early morning when the colours stand out naturally...those orange and red shades..also a nice place to visit in the evening. Also one of the highest peaks around. Tip- We stayed in club mahindra which is 4km away. On the way we passed by Le meridian and also Evershine key and citrus chambers. If you are staying in these hotels you can go for a morning or late evening walk. Just walk and admire the true sense of this place.
