Really enjoyed driving up here on Saturday morning. The market is quite small, but has a cool selection of coffee, fresh cheese, handmade bags and food. We had a delicious crepe with shrimp, avocado and artichokes. Yum! Also drove up into the beautiful hills, and walked around the cute town. Hit this on our way to the Wailaia Lookout, which was awesome.

Ola Brew

Loved this place. Go get lunch at Broke Da Mouth and then take the two-minute drive to Ola and spend the afternoon here. We tried almost everything on the menu. Our favorites were the vanilla porter, Hawaiian strong ale, and the white pineapple cider. Blake, our bartender, was such a fun friend to make for the day. We just sat around for 3-4 hours, read a bit, and kept having little tasters of this and that. Perfect place for low-key drinks.

Kona Brewing Company

We took a 10:30 tour of the brewery in Kona - shout-out to our tour guide Brian, who was interesting and fun. We took part in a generous tasting of four of their beers. The timing was such that we stayed there for lunch, having pizza and beer as per Brian’s recommendation. I had the Captain Cook’s and my husband had the Margherita. It was great! We sat outside to eat on a beautiful day. Another day in paradise.

This was a great way to spend two hours on a rainy and cloudy afternoon. Our tour guide Kai and driver Leon toured us through the Kilohana Plantation, one of Kauai's hidden gems. Bring your camera to capture pics of the lush vegetation and the farming areas teeming with a wide variety of fruits from avocado to papaya... Our tour guide Kai was incredibly knowledgeable and entertaining. Rum tasting along the way enlightened us about the varieties of Koala Rum and the tour culminated with a yummy mai tai made with fruits of the plantation.
