The Province of Syracuse (Italian: Provincia di Siracusa; Sicilian: Pruvincia di Sarausa) is a province in the autonomous island region of Sicily in Italy. Its capital is the city of Syracuse, a town which was established by Greek colonists arriving from Corinth in the eighth century B.C. During this drive we will have the opportunity to learn the geological history of Sicily and especially of Etna.We will visit one of the most stunning parts of Etna's lower crater (we could visit top craters but there is an extra 63 x person for cable line service to pay). We can take the option to have lunch in a stunning location near old extinct craters and take more walks after lunch. After Lunch we will move on to explore inside Lava tunnel and then we'll drive to the viewpoint of the giant old caldera of the Vulcano, or instead head off towards one of Sicily's best vineyards of Etna wine, this testing will cost an extra of 30 Euro per person and include a light lunch with Four wines combined delicious typical sicilian food, its also possible to have vegetarian version and children menù on request. Today we visited the Grand Canyon of Cassibile with our Guide Carlos. He is a very nice guy and tells a lot of things about the nature in the canyon. He speaks English very well. We had a nice swim and dive experience in the river. Thanks for the nice day.

First off, I booked this tour December 30th at about 8:30pm via Viator fir Dec 31st tour. The operator emailed me right away to clarify things that made the tour go smoothly. When we arrived in Catania at 5:40 early in the morning, our driver Danilo was was waiting for us already. We had an early start, meaning our time was not wasted at all. When we reached in Taormina, I asked Danilo to check if we can add done of the Godfather places to check and he called his boss right away and was confirmed we can do it. I was happy and appreciated the flexibility. We were able to check the places that I wanted to go. Just a reminder, our driver is not a licensed tourist guide but he tells us where to go and drop us off and pick us up like “door to door”. I would suggest to google the best places to visit and tell the driver what you most like to visit and read all about it. You will appreciate more if you know the story behind that particular area. This tour works perfectly for us. Thank you Danilo for doing above and beyond of what you are doing. Cheers!

With a couple of friends I made this tour. After a pleasent ride, with a coffee stop, we arrived at Villa Romana del Casale, where we admired the beautiful mosaïcs. In the neighborhood from the Villa, Giovanni arranged a nice lunch at a very good restaurant. After that we continued the journey to the Valle dei Templi, where we enjoyed the wonderful temples and a stunning sunset. Giovanni has an comfortable car, is an excellent driver, is enthusiastic, very kind and is doing his utmost to make you feel at ease. It was a marvelous day. Highly recommended!

2020 was a difficult year to travel, but if you can make it, it is all worth it! Given the various restrictions imposed on tourism during this period, Activity Sicily still delivered a rich and smooth programme: food was great, tours are interesting, hotels are comfortable and in great locations, and the cooking class is particularly fun. We focused on the food and wine aspects in this tour, the knowledge behind the food provided great insight into Sicilian people, history and culture. Massimo was hands-on all way through the tour to make sure everything went well, and all the guides are professional, knowledgable, and helped us to make the most of the trip during this difficult time. That said, the bonus is -- with hardly any tourists around, we really got to see the place as it is! Thanks Activity Sicily.

If thinking about hiking in Pantalica you are highly recommended to choose Carlo as your guide. We did a wonderful day tour and it felt like hiking with a friend not a stranger. He knew a lot about the place, is very easy to talk to and you can feel that he loves this gorgeous island. My train was more than late that day and he was very flexible with the pick up as well. Go with Carlo, you won't regret it ????
