Our guide was so great and took us to a nice overlook before entering the city. He also gave us great lunch recommendations and cafe recommendations. This was one of my favorite days we had on our trip!

We were met at cruise ship and had to wait for another family to join. All well and good. They had not pre booked! Our driver spoke very poor English. Not a problem as we speak Italian so could understand Spanish. He pointed out all the American restaurants and fast food cafes of which we had no interest. He didn’t seem to know his history of the area. On arrival at cliff divers he said we had to pay entrance! I said it was included as well as light refreshments. He said no. It really was a poor tour. Yet again we should have gone with cruise ship tour!

This tour is a wonderful opportunity to taste the best local offerings of Guerrero! The mezcal is very impressive and the family story of creating it is truly amazing. The lunch that is provided is the best meal we had in Mexico (my French partner raved that the restaurant was so good it deserved a Michelin Star) and even the local tea and bread was a special experience. Both places were beautifully decorated and all of the people were so hospitable. The drive is a couple of hours, but we’ll worth it and we learned so much about the history of Mexico on the way. The guides also took exceptional safety precautions in light of Covid (they wore masks and sanitized at every stop and always had sanitizer available). Neither restaurant was crowded at all and we felt perfectly safe the whole time. Highly recommend!

We took a tour with Pancho and Mario, who brought 8 of us from a cruise ship to see the sights of Acapulco in a comfortable air conditioned small bus. The guides’ passion for their hometown was obvious and endearing. They told stories about the places AND the people we saw, whom they waved to as we drove past. We visited 4 interesting sites, and Mario took pictures of the group that he later emailed to us. We had great seats on a shady balcony to watch the divers at Quebrada while enjoying a cold drink. Clearly, our guides were well known and very experienced in making visitors enjoy their city. After the formal tour, they suggested a great authentic restaurant for lunch, and got us back to the ship. Great fun, interesting color commentary and expert guides.
