Queen Victoria loved her holidays. She travelled to Scotland, France, and Italy and stayed at lavish palaces and princely courts in lush locations, but there’s nowhere she loved more than the Isle of Wight, a diamond-shaped pearl in the English Channel. It’s not far from London and boasts beautiful beaches, epic white sea-cliffs, a warm climate and remnants from the Romans, Normans, and two World Wars. On this tour, you visit Queen Victoria’s Italian-inspired holiday home, Osborne House. You venture to the sea-shores and see gorgeous cliffs, barren bunkers and stunning white rock structures. And on the mainland, you even get a chance to celebrate your journey with a drink at the home of Bombay Sapphire Gin. Join this trip, follow in the footsteps of royalty and let your guide lead you through England’s favourite holiday island.

The Wales tour was a great experience made much better by our excellent guide Rob! It was a difficult one as travel restrictions in Wales were announced on our third day. But Rabbies was quick to make alternative arrangements in Cotswolds and covered the additional cost of bookings. We have been to some magical locations which we would definitely miss on our own. Rob was very knowledgeable, enthusiastic to help, friendly and flexible making everyone feel involved. All in all, it was the highlight trip of the year!

If you're an Inspector Morse, Inspector Lewis, Lewis & Hathaway, or Endeavour fan, you gotta do this. Our guide was a treasure trove of information about these BBC shows that we've watched for years. She took us to sites all over old Oxford, reminded us of certain episodes, then pointed out this is where the murderer fell to his death, or is this where Hathaway was accidentally poisoned, or this was Morse's favorite pub. As a local, she knew quite a bit about the filming of these shows and gave all manner of trivia-like information to her tour group (all of whom were true fans). Our guide (unlike another we had the day before) was not afraid to speak out. No trouble hearing her, even though this is mostly an outdoor tour. A tour guide who truly loved her subject, she kept on regaling us with tidbits for longer than the tour's advertised two hours. More bang for the buck. We booked online before we left the States as this was one tour we definitely didn't want to miss. I'd advise you do the same, especially in prime tourist season.
