This is the 4th largest opera house in Italy. Beautiful interior, but uncomfortable seats unless you are on the floor or in a box. I've seen opera in New York and London, but the singing and audience reactions here (we saw Tosca) blow them away. It's very interesting to watch the locals, who may be wearing slacks and a polo or a suit and tie/dress. Tickets are not expensive 15 euros got us to the cheap seats; I think the most expensive was 45 euros.
