Krannert Center for the Performing Arts

There are 7 stages in the center, if you count the one in the lobby, the one in the basement, and the amphitheater outside. The best is the Foellinger Great Hall, which has fabulous acoustics that keep attracting some of the best symphonies to come and perform. Each year, I buy about 10 sets of tickets for performances at the center, and have seen many of the top 20 symphonies perform here.

AMC Champaign 13

Reviewed By shawnh777 - Washington DC, United States

I came here to watch Crazy Rich Asians on a quiet afternoon. It has been seriously upgraded since I came here as a kid. They have a Dolby Big-D theater, offer alcoholic drinks, and new concessions. The theater appears clean and quiet and the entire experience was very comfortable. The next steps for improvement would be reclining seats, online seat reservations, and a separate bar area. That said, this theater was more than I expected.

The historic building was renovated between 2009 and 2012, with a $64 million budget. The result is an environmentally sound and history-preserving office and classroom building, with a Lincoln bust in the entrance hall on the quad side.

A local recommended Blues on Neil to me. Great suggestion. Limited but great selection of southern, cajun, soul food, and vegan dishes. The sides are true comfort food. The portion sizes are huge. I ordered grits and shrimp. Very tasty 0and full of flavor. My friend ordered catfish abs side of collard greens, red beans and rice, and corn bread muffins. Neither of us could finsh our meal. I was given a take home container and promptly left it on the table. I was crossing the street when a staff member came out chasing me with my container of food - this was an extra effort which I really appreciated. Our waitress Renee was very attentive and knowledgeable.
