I have always seen this castle lurking off to the side of the road on our drive down into the heart of Burgundy Country from Paris and this year I finally decided to make a day trip of visiting. We came in the off season so most everything was closed except for the castle itself but the town was extremely charming and beautiful and the castle was an excellent visit. A great half day for folks who love exploring history and beauty.

Welcome in the oldest Castle of France (9 -15 century). A majestic, timeless, romantic ruin, on an isolated headland offering an exceptional panorama on Morvan and Auxois. It was one of the most powerful fortresses of the region

The Chateau de Meursault's estate stretches from Puligny-Montrachet to Aloxe-Corton and owns 110 plots of vines including eighteen 1ers Crus and three Grands Crus. It is one of the first Chateau to have introduced visit of cellars and wine tastings. With their superb double arches, our cellars constitute a unique estate in Burgundy. We will be pleased to welcome you, but don't forget to book your tour ! Please note that animals are prohibited. Thank you for your comprehension.
My husband and I visited the tasting room on the recommendation from several other travelers and were very pleased. We wanted whites and we were served some of the best on the trip! If you are lucky you will have Yannick be your host! Call ahead to confirm they are available. You can book a tour of the cellars or just a tasting. Our tasting of four whites was free - they gave a white Grand Cru that we were lucky enough to try and it was the BEST Chardonnay I’ve ever tasted.
