We spent an afternoon looking around the farm which was good. We saw animals, the green house, some fresh vegetables and the different kinds of rooms. The pool is yet to be completed and kayaking happens only during the rainy season. We were told that they organise bon fires during the weekends as long as they have a group. We were a group of 5 and went on a tour of the farm, it cost 2,150 naira per person. Other activities like horse riding, quad biking have separate fees. There are beautiful spots to take photos which we did. Looking forward to seeing what more the management will do with the farm.

The environment is stunning, however the accommodation was poor and extremely overpriced. Although we paid 50% deposit beforehand, our African hut was unavailable upon arrival. We were told it would be available the next day, but this did not happen. So we were given a villa, which although had an impressive view, meant we had to share accommodation with others instead of having our own place. The kitchen in the villa was literally falling apart and we had power sockets coming out of the wall. We had to strongly 'negotiate' a discount, which we were eventually given. We had no water for a day and a half and had to use buckets of water to wash and flush the toilets. All this at a cost which would rival a 5 star hotel. This coupled with the 7 hour extremely uncomfortable (and sometimes dangerous) road trip to get there ensured this is certainly not a place we will be recommending.

A special shout out, to the valiant Continent Tours staff members, that made my Ghana tour, a total success! First, and above all else, I want to thank Continent Tours Event Coordinator, Tina, Tour Guide Representative, Ernest, and Transportation Specialist, Shaibu, for my wonderful experience, during my time in Ghana. Your combined efforts, gave me one of the most spiritually uplifting, and heartwarming times of my life! I will have fond memories of my Ghanaian Homecoming, for years to come! Thank you all, for the adventure of a life time! My 14-day tour of Ghana, was not just another run of the mill tour of an African country. This tour was special, because it was in answer to the call, from the people of Ghana, for us, “lost souls”, to come back home. Because I am an African-American, born and raised in the 1960s, and educated in the American learning system, I know only a partial, and very selective truth, of the hardships of enslaved Africans, during the forced re-location to the Americas. To learn firsthand, what Africans went through, while being stolen from Africa, Bob Marley’s words, was a real eye opener. I am fortunate to have made the journey back to mother Africa, and to have contributed to her still unfolding story. I would highly encourage anyone, with a curiosity for African history, to allow Continent Tours, to arrange their own personal homecoming tour back to Africa. My tour was very well organized! The historical sites, and cultural events visited in the course of my day, were arranged in a manner, that allowed for maximum exposure, to the activities on the schedule. My tour guide was expertly versed, in the past and present history of the areas we visited during the tour. There was never a dull moment in my daily activities. Getting from here to there, our driver, expertly navigated the challenges of the Ghanaian roadsides, without incident. All aspects of passenger comfort and safety were strictly adhered to at all times. I could not be more pleased with the professional service I received from the Continent Tours staff. I would highly recommend “Continent Tours” to anyone wishing to experience Ghana and other available countries in Africa!
