Olde Brick House

Join us at the Olde Brick House for a lively chat; perhaps a sip of tea. As we stroll through the house, we venture to the Amish crafted bedroom set: crafted in Pennsylvania in a simple Shaker style with two-tone finish. These pieces are constructed to last a lifetime. Spread on the bed is a bright, cozy hand-quilted quilt with just a few pillows to make everything comfy. The bedside lamp has a tin punched shade and is sitting on a hand-crocheted doily that has aged a bit. A loomed throw, the pattern circa 1800, draped at the foot of the bed is ready for a quick nap or as another layer for a cold night. Above the bed a framed print of a folk-art townscape by Bonnie White radiates bright colors carrying you back to early times in a quiet town. The rocking chair beside the bed tells the story of many nights rocking a sweet child to sleep. On the floor is a hand-painted canvas floor cloth. This and other settings are spread throughout the house. We invite you to come and explore each one. There's so much to see and smell and enjoy! We're looking forward to seeing you soon.

As a local, I frequent Barbers Orchard often, particularly their bakery. For folks visiting our wonder Smoky Mountains, you MUST stop in for a cider donut, some fresh apple cider, canned jams, or fresh apples to take home with you. When you step out of your car, you will smell the wonderful aromas of fresh baked pies, cookies, donuts, etc. This is a MUST on your destination list.

The Strand at 38 Main

Not your average Movie Theater! Featuring first run movies, a full espresso bar, craft-churned ice cream, handcrafted sodas, draft beer and wine in Downtown Waynesville, NC.

Reviewed By AltsLJ - Lake Junaluska, United States

This restored vintage theater is a great place to watch a movie while eating popcorn, a delicious ice cream cone, drink a specialty coffee or one of The Soda Jerks homemade sodas. Padded chairs are placed close together in rows so once in a row it's hard to climb over others to leave the show room. However, it's a great place to enjoy an evening out when one of the current movies is being shown. We always look forward to supporting this local business.
