Bruntons Bridge

A short drive from Walhalla and we were at Bruntons Bridge. This area has of recent times had an upgrade with more camp sites available and a clean and tidy toilet block. Very relaxing.

We stopped here on the way home from Buchan Caves. Fascinating railway history. You can stop at two lookout areas - the main car park with toilets or a lookout under a km from bridge

Corrigan's Suspension Bridge

Reviewed By revenue_razor_au - Berwick, Australia

The Corrigan Suspension Bridge in the Tarra-Bulga National Park in the beautiful Strezlecki Range is extremely accessible for any vehicle and is a reasonably short drive from Melbourne on made roads. Parking is free and there is a good number of car parks. Walking tracks are in great condition and you don’t need to be super fit to get around, there are steps and inclines and dips as you make your way around the paths.

Noojee Trestle Bridge

Reviewed By shanx-ravi - Glen Waverley, Australia

On the way to Toorongo falls, we took a very small diversion and was pleasantly surprised with this antique looking bridge. A small climb takes you to the top of the bridge which then loops you back to the car park. A good rest, good photo shoot place and good for some picnicking. Did not get enough mobile signal, hence ensure you have offline maps enabled.

La Trobe Swing Bridge

Reviewed By royv647 - Traralgon, Australia

It has been many years since I have driven on that road and did not know the bridge had been bypassed, as kids it was always a treat to go over the bridge to the beach towns nearby. Nice it has been bypassed and preserved. You can now drive into the park area beside the bridge, park the car and take your time walking about and reading all the history of this great engineering feat by the great Aussie engineer and architecture John Grainger. Built in 1883 it is still in great working order and signage tells us it is opened every Sat, at 3pm. Every Sunday at 4pm. And the 2nd. Wednesday of the month at 11am. It is the oldest operational swing bridge in Australia. There was a big restoration done over four years and opened in 2006 at a cost of nearly $1,000000. Really worth going to see this historic bridge that crosses the Latrobe River, just imagine the different types of traffic that have passed under it and over it over the generations, it is fantastic that we are lucky enough to be able to walk across it today and enjoy the experience. A must place to visit when in the area. A credit to all involved, I assume it is volunteers who do the opening, if so well done .

Tidal River Footbridge

My wife and I walked across this bridge to get to the start of a few hiking trails. This is a very scenic part of Wilsons Prom. It is likely that all visitors to Wilsons Prom would walk across this bridge as it is near the Visitors Centre and the main car park.

The Entrance Walk

Reviewed By Chris-Mares - Lakes Entrance, Australia

This is a short 5Km walk and takes the average person around 2 hours to do the circuit. Be aware of soft sand - it can be a bit taxing if you haven't walked for a while. Walk with the wind (if easterly then do the beach first, if blowing a westerly do the bush track first). If you love the birds, you might hear/see 20 different species along the walk. Be aware there could be the odd snake out (even in winter), but they tend to be more scared of you. I might be lucky enough to see one once a year. Blue tongue lizards are a lot more common. Don't forget to bring your binoculars too. There are normally up to 40 seals to be seen (very hard to spot when in amongst the rocks on the other side of the entrance).
