Reviewed By jacksmobilephonePatrick's on the beach is a family run hotel on a large beachfront property. We stayed in a beach front cottage, which was absolutely wonderful. Each cottage has a large porch where you can sit and have your morning coffee (they make excellent brewed coffee in giant coffee cups btw), and/or drink your evening cocktails while watching the boats and the surf. Their beach is sandy and clean and great for swimming. If you want to go island hopping, a boat will pull right up to the hotel and take you. No need for the cramped van ride to some public pier. They have a very nice restaurant and bar, but will happily serve your meal at one of the pagodas on the beach. And probably most important, the staff are amazing. This isn't a new style hotel, or a cookie cutter chain hotel. There isn't a flat screen tv with 47 shopping channels in each room, but they do have Aircon, a mini fridge, a great bed, and a large tile bathroom. Think of it as more of a siargao adventure base in a garden of Eden type setting. It's in the heart of Gen. Luna's restobar scene. You can walk everywhere (even take a shortcut on the beach).

For more than half the price of resorts/ accommodations you can find in General Luna, consider a getaway where only the basic of necessities can be found. Bamboo Garden can be found in Pacifico San Isidro where more locals enjoy the waves than the tourists. The rooms are budget type, with private shower and toilet. No A/C here, enjoy the natural sea breeze. You can find the owner Georg, his wife and daughter who is very laid-back, just enjoying island life. At night, there are tons of hermit crabs you can play with. Don’t harm them. Also, mosquitoes who are always present along with rich nature. Be sure to bring off lotion with you. They have this beautiful deck where you can enjoy cold beer while watching the surfers ride the waves, enjoy a snack or a full meal. I can vouch that this is the best place to watch the sunrise. There’s also wifi from time to time. ?

I have booked Nine Clouds since January 2018 thru booking.com. Five days and four nights, confirmation email was sent to me by the site and the property, everything is set for my April Beach Holiday. The week of my departure, another confirmation was sent by booking,com regarding my reservation, no changes, I requested the property for an airport pick up, emailed back and yes, we will send someone to pick you up, just to be sure I tried to get in touch with Nine Clouds through a phone call, no answer. I have read some negative feedbacks but I am going to take the risk anyway, Siargao is now the preferred destination since Boracay was closed down, booking another hotel is not easy, even if I go beyond my budget, it is not easy since everything is already fully booked. Upon checking in on my arrival, I was informed that my booking was changed, to 3 days and nights, I told them no, it is 5 days and 4 nights. I have my booking voucher and also soft copies of booking.com email confirmation on my phone. Again, they insisted that I changed my booking. I was in a strange place, tired and been travelling since 2am so I got that kind of welcome. The owner and her staff looked confused and I am also confused, owner insisted I changed, after standing there for almost an hour, sweating, tired and hungry, I finally got a room, for only 3 days and 2 nights. I worked in hotels, stayed in hotels and lived in hotels, I know how it goes. What I did not like was the kind of attitude the owner showed me. As of now, I am trying to get in touch with booking,com to find out what went wrong with that booking, If I did change my booking, my rates will change as well, another email will be sent to me and inform me regarding the changes. The property is at the far end of the street, on the quieter side of Cloud Nine,which I liked very much, I was given a very big room and king bed, lots of spaces, two towels,. I have an AC which is quite small for a big room, I saw at least 4 plug points, only 1 was working, common bathroom is clean, no hot shower. It says beach front, but beach is not swimmable, free wifi works, but signal can be weak, but the wifi and telephone signal in Siargao in general is weak especially when it is raining My advice to owner is: Madame, if you want to stay long in the hospitality business, be hospitable and empathised with your guests, Do not to argue with your guests, when someone gives you a phone call, call back, otherwise don't advertise your number if you don't want to be bothered, but thanks for trying to find me another home stay on the remaining days of my holiday. The airport pick up? no one came for me, good thing a van driver was willing to drop me off in General Luna. So there you are, just no expectations

This accommodation is 2mins to walk to the white sand beach, we are located in the centre and just a throw stones away to the restaurants. Just beside bravo resort. Cloud 9 surfing spot is 5mins to drive and boulevard and public market is 5mins to drive. We also arrange land tour and island hopping.

Reviewed By Snurrl247Das Latidude 10 liegt gut gelegen. Restaurant‘s und Bar‘s sind genügend in der Nähe. Der Strand ist in 50 Metern hinter dem Resort erreichbar. Dort befindet sich auch gleich eine Kite Station. Die Bungalows sind sauber und werden täglich gereinigt. Motorräder können auch vom Resort gebucht werden. Die Angestellten sind sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Der Besitzer, ein Australier fuhr uns auch persönlich zum Flughafen. Die Fahrt dauert gute 35 Minuten.

The location is amazing, the rooms are great, the staff is accommodating, and the dogs are the cutest. I especially love the Arka beachfront, I feel like I have my own private island. Ultimately I love Arka and I will definitely be booking for the nth time when I come back.

Reviewed By aimee sAmazing experience, the staff were all friendly and uber willing to help, from processing our requirements, to getting us anything we need from the market or the city health, they all have can do attitude. we found out that they were just a skeletal team due to pandemic but they made sure that service was full and you wouldnt even realize there were just a few staff working. The villa was just a few steps away from the powdery white sand beach. knowing that there were probably very rare guests checking in, they still make sure the beach front is clean and the gardens are neat just as when the place is full with guests. We were very lucky to have stayed in this place during pandemic, we were the only guests in the resort and to have all the resort to ourselves. they were very careful with safety protocols... they made sure everyone observed it. One night they set up the dining table for us and we bought some seafood to grill in their al fresco area at no charge at all... we appreciate that, this little things mean so much to a guest, its a big value add to the place .

'Gem Hotel' with Excellent Hospitality
Reviewed By Jo-Anna CWe stayed here at Maya Villa for 4 days (although we wished we could have stayed longer). We booked the 'King' Room (top floor) and it was perfect. The Villa is located in a quieter/more peaceful area, away from the busy town center -- if you plan to rent a motorbike, it's just a 10 minute ride to the main beaches and restaurants. The room was very clean, comfortable, and spacious -- and it was great having a terrace and a hammock all to ourselves. Upon arrival we were warmly welcomed by the friendly staff -- we especially were thankful to Cecil and the girls, and the kitchen staff for making our stay wonderful. We were given interesting advice & tips about the island, activities, supermarket, shops, restaurants, and bars. They surely took that little extra step for the guests! We would also like to mention that the breakfast was always a delight -- we recommend the 'Shakshuka' with 'longaniza' on the side! We would definitely recommend this little piece of paradise to everybody! Thank you again Maya Villa for a beautiful holiday to remember. We hope to see you again soon! ~ Love from Mike and Jo ~
